Pete Davidson and Colin Jost Finally Found a Use for Their $280K Auction Ferry

SNL stars Pete Davidson and Colin Jost have finally found a fitting use for their impulse-buy ferry. The pair famously purchased the decommissioned John F. Kennedy Staten Island Ferry at auction for $280,000 in 2022.

Pete Davidson and Colin Jost’s notorious 2022 impulse buy is becoming a floating stage for Snapple

Since the time Davidson and Jost bought the ferry, it has been the center of many key events. This includes Tommy Hilfiger’s 2025 New York Fashion Week show. However, People reports that the ferry is going to enjoy its moment in the spotlight as the SNL costar’s partner with the Snapple team to create a one-night-only floating comedy event.

The ferry will become a Snapple Island ferry on Sept. 17. Snapple described the event as “a one-day-only, free comedy club built to give New Yorkers an unexpectedly refreshing break from the daily grind.” Hosted by the comedian pair and produced by The Stand Group, the show will feature some of the rising stars in the comedy sphere.

“Turning the ferry into a floating comedy club with Snapple makes more sense than anything else we considered, and it still doesn’t make much sense,” Davidson said in a statement. “Either way, we’re giving people a chance to take a break, have a laugh, and do something completely ridiculous with us.”

Snapple shared a promotional video where Davidson says, “Hey, so you know how Colin Jost and I bought a Staten Island Ferry? Guess what — it’s now a Snapple Island Ferry.” The comedian also said that the event will involve, “giving people a ton of free Snapple.”

The event is scheduled at 7pm ET  Pier 17, 89 South St in New York City on Sept. 17. For those not from New York, Snapple will be sharing content from the event on their social media channels.

A limited number of free tickets will begin dropping daily at 3 p.m. ET on Sept. 3 and continue through Sept. 8.
