The Lindsay Clancy trial hit a major impasse Tuesday after jurors informed the judge that they could not unanimously agree on any of the charges before them.
After roughly 18 hours of deliberations, the panel reported the deadlock. The judge, however, did not end deliberations and instead directed the jury to continue considering the case.

The Lindsay Clancy jurors must determine whether to find her guilty of murder, guilty of manslaughter or not guilty because of a lack of criminal responsibility. The latter option functions essentially as an insanity defense in the case.
Questions from the jury offered some indication of what evidence members were reviewing. During deliberations, jurors asked to examine the knife Clancy allegedly used to injure herself and the pill bottles connected to the case.
As per TMZ, the judge sent the panel back to continue deliberating, leaving the possibility of a Lindsay Clancy verdict unresolved.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty in connection with the January 2023 deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, at the family’s Massachusetts home. She has acknowledged killing the children, but her defense disputes her criminal responsibility at the time.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington has argued that Clancy suffered from postpartum psychosis when the children died. Prosecutors have taken the opposite position and maintain that she remained criminally responsible for her actions.
The Lindsay Clancy murder case has also included testimony from her former husband, Patrick Clancy. He took the stand and described discovering his children at the family home. Jurors also heard his 911 call during the proceedings.
The reported Lindsay Clancy deadlocked jury does not yet mean the court will declare a mistrial. For now, the judge has instructed jurors to keep working toward a unanimous decision.
That leaves Clancy’s legal fate with the panel as deliberations continue across all counts.
