Alanis alleges a former tour manager threatened to report her to UK authorities
As TMZ reported, the 52-year-old singer has claimed that her tour manager allegedly orchestrated a “calculated blackmail campaign” against her. According to court documents, the songwriter is suing her former staff member, Keren Urinov, for civil extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation.
Alanis Morissette claimed that her former tour manager later threatened her, saying that Keren would need to retain the tour manager for 15 years with substantial compensation or someone would file a complaint with British authorities against the songwriter over alleged drug trafficking.
Before that, the record producer claimed that while Keren was temporarily working as their tour manager, the bag seized by British border security on July 2025 contained marijuana and xylazine, a non-opioid animal sedative. According to the claim, Keren Urinov herself admitted that the bag belonged to her.
However, according to the documents, Alanis Morissette made it clear that she would not give in to pressure or pay a large sum to the woman who allegedly threatened her. She is now suing Keren over the matter. For context, the Head Over Feet singer is seeking more than $75,000 in unspecified damages.
For context, the Canadian-American singer temporarily hired Keren Urinov as her tour manager at the beginning of 2025. On July 12, 2025, British Border Force officials seized the former staff member’s bag at Farnborough Airport in the United Kingdom.
Urinov identified the bag as her own and also showed her Israeli medical marijuana license, after which she was released. The blackmailing case now gives this incident a new turn.
