Dancing with the Stars has been making headlines over Season 35, which will arrive soon, and executive producer Conrad Green is also drawing attention for his decision to “break rules” with a historic two-woman team. The decision marks a change from Season 34 and is part of the new talent lineup.
Producer Conrad Green pulled back the curtain on pairing an all-female team
Dancing with the Stars executive producer Conrad Green recently spoke to TheWrap in an interview, where he revealed that Season 35 will feature two new pros, an all-female pairing, and two more couples. He also explained how the show sustained the hype from Season 34.
Green said, “There’s so much buzz around the show, and it does seem a bit sad to just let that sit for eight months.”
“It’s trying to build things that feel natural to the show that don’t cannibalize the main show … Having a couple cast announcements pop up in April just whets the appetite,” he added.
The television producer also explained how having seven couples in each two-hour episode of Dancing with the Stars can be difficult to fill the show.
Green said, “We have two two-hour shows in the first week, and it’s very hard to fill that with seven couples in each show.”
“We’ve got some special dances. They’re going to be great premieres, but you need enough dances to fill those two competitive episodes,” he concluded.
Dancing with the Stars Season 35 will premiere over two nights, September 15 and 16, 2026. Both episodes will air at 8 p.m.ET on ABC and Disney+.
