Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s beautiful dog made her first public appearance in the NFL pro’s new Tommy Hilfiger campaign. But it only happened after getting the pop star’s approval.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end talked about featuring Wendy in his newly released commercial on the Wednesday, September 2 episode of New Heights. His elder brother, Jason Kelce, looked at pictures of the Samoyed posing alongside her owner. He then told his sibling, “Oh, I didn’t know that Wendy was out of the bag!”
“Yes, she is officially a picture dog,” the 36-year-old responded and then explained how they planned Wendy’s cameo. “It was fun. We were gonna use a dog in the shoot, and the entire team was mentioning we were gonna use a dog and [asking] am I OK with dogs, and I’m like, ‘I have a dog.’”
Travis Kelce revealed that the Hilfiger team asked him to bring the dog along for the shoot. He remembered saying, “Uh, let me talk it over with my fiancée, at the time, let me talk it over with Tay and figure out what’s the best way to go about this.”
According to Kelce, the “Lover” hitmaker was completely on board and proudly talked about how naturally Wendy poses. He described her as a born model, noting she had just turned a little over a year old and had been with them for a while. The 1587 Prime co-owner also admitted that they tried to keep her hidden before their airport sighting.
