Their children, Archie and Lilibet, are also expected to start school in the UK soon. As of now, the Sussexes are reportedly staying in the Cotswolds. However, their permanent home has not yet been finalized. While Spencer offered them his “old lodge home,” Markle reportedly felt that it was not luxurious enough for their needs.

Meghan Markle reportedly rejected a home offered by Prince Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, following their return to the UK. Reports suggest that the couple is currently staying at a friend’s mansion in the Cotswolds. However, they are still looking for a permanent home as they plan to spend more time in the UK.
Earlier, there were reports saying that Harry and Markle wanted nine bedrooms, a film studio, and plenty of private land for their UK residence. Amid this, a new report by Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice suggests that the couple were offered the chance to reside at The Falconry, an early 17th-century lodge located at the back of the deer park on the Althorp estate in Northamptonshire. Spencer used it as his home before inheriting the main house in 1992.
While Harry was reportedly deeply moved by the offer, as Althorp is “sacred ground” to him, Markle allegedly refused. A source claimed that she felt the property was “too remote, too far from London and, frankly, not nearly grand enough.”
The insider explained that Markle wants privacy and security. But at the same time, she also expects “serious luxury, substantial space and easy access to London.” The source added, “Meghan isn’t moving back to Britain to hide away in an old lodge in Northamptonshire.” Hence, because the property reportedly did not meet her requirements, she rejected the offer.
Another source said, “Harry’s heart loved the idea; Meghan’s head killed it. He saw family and memories. She saw isolation and compromise.” Now that the offer is reportedly off the table, the couple is continuing their search for something more luxurious, a home that they feel lives up to their expectations.
