Kody Brown is going through what no parent should have: dealing with the loss of a child. The most recent Sister Wives episode was intimate as cameras filmed the Browns’ grief after learning that Garrison Brown had taken his own life. The father of 18 is now trying to figure out how to navigate the rest of his earthly life without one of his children.
Sister Wives star Kody Brown wanted more time with son Garrison Brown
Kody is realizing that time and circumstances wait for no one. As fans know, he and his son had been feuding over his strict COVID-19 rules. But on the most recent Sister Wives episode, he is wishing he hadn’t been so stubborn. For Kody, “Grief comes in waves. It just wasn’t supposed to be this way. You know what I’m saying? It’s just heartbreaking.” The 56-year-old sat by a campfire, an element that Garrion loved, lamenting, “I didn’t get a chance to really just make things right, just not being able to say goodbye.” Kody, like the rest of the family, is really struggling with their son’s suicide. And the polygamous patriarch is trying to figure out how to move on with his life.
Kody told Robyn Brown, “It’s like I’ve got to do something different because I could have had more time with him, and I thought there would be more time. Everybody thinks they’ve got more time.” Sister Wives fans watched as Kody started to break down. He asked, “How am I going to do this? How do I do the rest of my life with every holiday and every birthday?” The family is now preparing to bring Garrison’s ashes to Wyoming to be buried. Next week’s episode will be just as raw and emotional. The Browns will now get their chance to lay their sweet boy to rest.
Sister Wives is available to stream on TLC.
