The news came after Justin Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, filed new claims. Freedman accused Lively of threatening Swift into issuing a public show of support or she would leak their private chats. However, Lively’s lawyer denied these allegations, dubbing them “categorically false” and “completely untethered from reality” in a statement to PEOPLE. The attorney, Mike Gottlieb, also questioned the reliability of these accusations.
