Sydney Sweeney’s Daring Look in Corset Dress Has Fans Talking

Sydney Sweeney had fans gushing at the Toronto International Film Festival. The actress chose a stunning light pink corset dress for the premiere of her powerful new biopic, Christy, effortlessly blending old Hollywood glamour with a modern, daring edge.

Sydney Sweeney wore a pale pink Erdem corset dress that hugged her waist and featured a daring sweetheart neckline at TIFF. The gown gathered dramatically at the hip with a bold red accent before flowing into a soft train. She paired the look with minimal kohl-ed up eyes, glowy makeup, and let her blonde hair cascade in loose curls.

On Instagram, she gave fans a closer look at the outfit in a carousel that also included photos with boxer Christy Martin, whom she plays in the film, castmates, friends, and even a cute Pomeranian. She captioned the post, “when TIFF met CHRISTY. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support for this special film and incredible woman.”

The premiere was intensely emotional for Sydney Sweeney as she introduced Christy, a biopic directed by David Michôd. It’s a film about the rise of Christy Martin, the most famous female boxer of the late ’80s, and her survival after a near-fatal attack by her husband and former trainer in 2010.

On stage, Sweeney fought back tears while addressing the real-life Martin. “Christy, you are absolutely incredible, and I’m so honored. I’m gonna cry! Oh my God, you’re so inspirational,” Sweeney said. She admitted the role was both thrilling and intimidating, joking about perfecting boxing moves in front of one of the sport’s greatest fighters.

On the other hand, Martin praised Sweeney’s dedication, saying, “She wasn’t the beautiful, sexy Sydney. She was the tough, rugged Christy.”

The actress revealed that she underwent months of intense training, boxing up to three times a day while working with coaches, nutritionists, and trainers. “I trained for two, three months before [shooting]… and then while I was filming, I trained as well. It was incredible being able to embody such a powerful woman. I felt even stronger,” she shared. (via Variety)

Christy is releasing in theatres on November 7.
