When Sophie Beador suffered an unexpected breakup earlier this year, she headed straight home to mama. The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador was ready with open arms to comfort her oldest daughter.
As fans saw on RHOC Season 19, Episode 9, Sophie flew home to Orange County from NYC to recover in the warmth of her mother’s love. She also timed her visit perfectly to be included in Jennifer Pedranti’s beach day.
“Sophie did meet a guy, and she really started to fall for him,” Shannon explained to the ladies, prior to her daughter’s arrival. “Last night, he ended it. And she was in tears. So, she flew in for the weekend.”

Shannon gave us a few more details about the breakup and Sophie’s visit on the RHOC After Show.
“Sophie’s fine after the breakup,” Shannon shared. “It’s just the initial sadness … And she understands, like, now is not the time to be in a relationship … She just ended her relationship with [college boyfriend] Reese. Why would you jump back into another one? So, she’s good. She’s having fun.”
Unfortunately, Shannon’s two other daughters, 21-year-old twins Stella and Adeline, gave their older sister grief about running “home to Mommy.” Where else was she supposed to find that safe space?
As another mom, Heather Dubrow agreed, “Come home. You’re always welcome.”
Accordingly, the other RHOC ladies rallied to support Sophie. In order to help Sophie feel better, Emily Simpson suggested that each of them should share their own worst breakup story.
Shannon also reassured her daughter, “Someday, Sophie, you’re gonna sit at a table, and you’re gonna laugh about your breakup story.”
“And God has something so much better for you,” Gretchen Rossi added.
“Sophie felt a lot of love when we all sat down around the table and made her feel better,” Shannon concluded. “And I think it was really sweet.”
I have to say that it was nice to see Shannon’s loving, caring side, after seeing so much of her angry, aggressive side this season. She really is a good mom.
