Jalen Hurts Shuts Down Chris Jones Amid Trash Talk: ‘Shut Your A** Up’

In a rather unusual moment caught on the hot mic, Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive lineman Chris Jones seemed to trash-talk star Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, the latter had the scoreboard on his side and promptly shut his opponent down. Notably, this is the Chiefs’ second loss in a row this season.

Jalen Hurts shuts down Chris Jones on Hot Mic

In an exchange that was caught on the hot mic, Kansas City Chiefs’ Chris Jones seemingly told Jalen Hurts, “You don’t even have 100 yards,” while lining up at the center. But as the night belonged to the Eagles, the latter did not just take in the trash-talk with no response.

Instead, the Eagles player, who was winning the game that night, said, “We won the f*****g game, shut your a** up.” After this exchange, Jones seemingly said something else, too, with minutes remaining in the game. But that part was undecipherable. Jones seemingly mispoke, however, as Hurts tallied 101 passing yards.

“(Jones is) probably one of the best s**t talkers in the league,” Eagles star offensive lineman Lane Johnson said about Jones later to ESPN. “Top notch,” he added. Unfortunately for Jones, this was the Eagles’ day as they took home a 20-17 road triumph.

Chris Jones’ frustration is understandable as the Kansas City Chiefs have now dropped to 0-2 this season. Both setbacks came in one-score games for the team. It also marked the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career that the Chiefs have lost three games straight.

Meanwhile, Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice continue to be absent, and Travis Kelce does not look like his usual imposing self. This has resulted in the team’s failure to score for the second straight week.

The Chiefs will now face the New York Giants in a clash of 0-2 teams at MetLife Stadium for Sunday Night Football. Hopefully, they will be able to turn their season around soon enough.
