Chris Pratt Gets Roasted Online for Squinting Through His Prayer Video

Chris Pratt’s recent prayer video is leaving fans in stitches, who are now mocking him for pretending to close his eyes. The actor became subject to a hilarious roasting session soon after he uploaded the clip to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

Chris Pratt roasted over his prayer video

Chris Pratt recently posted a video on Instagram, urging his fans to pray along with him. However, the short clip failed to cause the desired effect as netizens noticed something else. Many users pointed out that the actor looked like he was squinting and merely pretended to close his eyes.

The video began with the Guardians of the Galaxy star encouraging his fans to join him in a quick prayer. “Hey guys, just stop real quick and pray with me,” he prefaced before reciting Psalm 46:10. “Be still, and know that I am God,” he began with his eyes closed and continued quoting the verses.

Pratt then addressed his fans once again and said, “OK, now you can continue scrolling, or you can turn your phone off and go outside.”

The actor then concluded with a few words of motivation. “Might I suggest the latter? Go get some sunshine. Go look at a tree, touch some grass, call a friend. If you’ve got time to be on your phone right now, you’ve got time to do your to-do list, and you’ve got time to reach out to somebody in need. Share this prayer with them,” said Pratt.

However, fans were quick to notice that he didn’t seem to close his eyes fully and was instead squinting really hard. Many jokingly accused the actor of secretly reading from a script and questioned the sincerity behind his words. The replies were soon flooded with hilarious reactions from netizens.

“I’m crying so bad, I thought he was having an allergic reaction at first,” one user commented. Another wrote, “How are you an actor and still can’t memorize prayer lines.” A third user shared, “Like why didnt he just keep his eyes fully open. no one would’ve thought it was weird if he just prayed with his eyes open so he could read the verses.”

Meanwhile, fans are excited to hear Chris Pratt as Mario in the upcoming animated movie The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The actor will also appear alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Annabelle Wallis in the sci-fi thriller Mercy.
