Nearly three years after releasing his memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry is now defending his work. He recently defended his stories about the royal family, saying his “conscience is clear” and it is not about “revenge.” However, experts claim that if the Duke of Sussex wants to mend his relationship with his father, King Charles, he has to “stop commenting” about his book. Otherwise, it might damage his efforts at reconciliation with the monarch.
Prince Harry has to ‘stop commenting’ if he wants to mend King Charles relationship, expert claims
Prince Harry has reportedly mentioned a lot of details about the royal family in his memoir, “Spare,” which raised eyebrows. Many even claimed that his book did more harm than good to his relationship with his father, King Charles. Now, the way the Duke of Sussex defends his book will certainly hamper their relationship, as per an expert. Hence, the latter has advised Harry to stop following that path to mend his relationship with his father.
Grant Harold, the former butler of Buckingham Palace, told RadarOnline that although Harry believes his book has not done any damage, it “has kept the fire of the family feud burning for years longer than it would have done otherwise.” Harry’s decision to share “private information has damaged” the relationship between him and his father “even further.”
Although the expert admitted that Harry is “completely within his rights to release a memoir,” he should be willing to “accept the repercussions of that.” However, Harold believes “new comment from Harry will cause more damage.” Hence, as a precautionary measure, the Duke “just needs to stop commenting on things at this point.” The expert said that it’s “the safest option if he wants to mend his relationship with his dad,”
In the book, the Duke of Sussex talked about every aspect of his life. While many of his stories caused an uproar in the royal palace, Harry rebuked the claims, insisting it “was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out, and it needed to be corrected.” The 41-year-old further revealed that contrary to the belief, he has not aired his “dirty laundry in public,” adding that his book is “not about revenge, it is about accountability.”
