Diddy Pleads for Lighter Sentence; Claims He’s Sober Amid ‘Inhumane’ Prison Conditions

Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly asked a judge to release him from prison. Documents filed on his behalf suggest the musician is seeking a sentence of less than 14 months. This means he would be set free immediately thanks to time already served. The musician has also made complaints about his current conditions in jail.

Diddy will be set free in October, if a judge agrees to his demands. Court documents obtained by Radar Online reveal that his lawyers are asking for a sentence of no more than 14 months. Since he’s already served close to that time, he’d be free to leave almost immediately.

The rapper is due to be sentenced on October 3. He was found guilty of two prostitution-related charges earlier this year. The more serious accusations of sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy were dropped.

His defense has claimed that Diddy has been “adequately punished”. They argued: “In the past two years, Mr. Combs’s career and reputation have been destroyed. He has served over a year in one of the most notorious jails in America — yet has made the most of that punishment.”

The documents also note that Diddy is now sober “for the first time in 25 years”. They claim he is facing “inhumane” conditions at New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center, including dirty water, food with maggots in and “bright lights illuminated 24 hours per day.”

The lawyers added that Diddy has “not breathed fresh air in nearly 13 months”. They alleged he is currently on suicide watch, so every two hours he is forced to “present his identification card to the guards to show he is alive and well.”

Earlier this month, Diddy’s former protégé Aubrey O’Day revealed she was so scared of retaliation from the rapper she used a knife for protection.
