The Duchess of York’s past is being revisited amid another scandal.
Sarah Ferguson has been in the eye of the storm for years, facing her share of scrutiny during her marriage to Prince Andrew. Her connection to the late Jeffrey Epstein has further tarnished her image.
This new scandal has triggered renewed scrutiny about an earlier affair. While pregnant with her second child, Eugenie, Sarah had an affair with Texas businessman Steve Wyatt during her marriage to Andrew.
Sarah Ferguson is facing backlash after an e-mail to “supreme friend” Jeffrey Epstein came to light

Sarah Ferguson has seemingly been in the middle of scrutiny for decades, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. Several charities have cut ties with her, according to RadarOnline.com. This stems from a 2011 e-mail where the Duchess referred to Jeffrey as a “supreme friend.” The e-mail also seemed to apologize for previously criticizing the serial sex predator.
“The Epstein scandal is hugely damaging, but it’s also dragged up the old story of her pregnancy affair,” according to a royal insider. History repeating itself is what many people are saying about Sarah’s words about Jeffrey. Her time with Steve is said to have been the reason she and Andrew split up. Following the breakup, her former mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, accused Sarah of bringing “shame on the family.”
The late Queen also said she wouldn’t be helping Sarah who’d been accumulating plenty of debt. Jeffrey Epstein, however, was happy to assist her with those money issues. In March 2011 he paid £15,000 to an employee that she owed money. Sarah later conceded that it had been a mistake to accept financial help from him. Reports indicate the help came following an intervention from the Duke of York, who had a close friendship with Jeffrey.
Oddly, Sarah and Andrew remain close and still live together at Royal Lodge.
