There appears to be renewed optimism surrounding Halsey, despite her health issues. The singer is battling lupus and T cell disorder, a condition she disclosed to fans in June 2024. She’s been undergoing treatment as a result and gave her loyal followers an update recently.
“Just did another few sessions of chemo,” said Halsey. Lupus is an autoimmune disease in the body’s immune system which attacks healthy tissues. That causes inflammation affecting the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
Despite everything going on in her personal life, the Grammy Award nominee has plenty of work-related things on the horizon.
Halsey is preparing for a global tour
Even in her current state, Halsey will be performing in front of fans for several shows very soon.
“We just put the Back to Badlands show together, and it’s going to be unbelievable [and] so amazing,” Halsey told fans on TikTok. The singer turned 31 on Monday, but says with all the tour planning and her treatment, it’s barely crossed her mind.
Her upcoming tour marks the 10th anniversary of her debut studio album, Badlands. The tour begins in Los Angeles next month and concludes in Australia in February.
Halsey – who opened up about her album’s “failure” – shared a funny story about how she and her fiancé, Avan Jogia, were driving in LA and passed by the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Avan told her, “You’re gonna be in there soon.” That took her by surprise before he clarified that Halsey was going to perform at that venue on tour.
Halsey’s had her share of health scares in recent years, revealing in 2022 that she’d been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, among other diseases. The disease causes loose blood vessels and easy bruising.
Her Badlands tour kicks off with three shows on October 14,15, and 16 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
