Mark Sanchez Out of Hospital After Stabbing

After being released from the hospital, Mark Sanchez’s next stop is prison.

The former NFL quarterback was wounded during an altercation over the weekend in Indianapolis. He is facing a series of misdemeanor charges. The incident occurred late Saturday night with a 69-year-old truck driver.

The Fox color commentator is being charged with battery resulting in injury, plus public intoxication and unlawful entry into a vehicle.

There was dispatch audio that captured police discussing evidence in the area, although many details remain rather sketchy. Mark was scheduled to call the Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mark is lucky his wounds weren’t serious, but he may not be so lucky when it comes to his legal issues. He was treated for multiple stab wounds but has been released from the hospital. According to TMZ, the man involved in the incident with Mark suffered lacerations to his face along with a cut jaw.

An affidavit states that Mark allegedly accosted the truck driver after the truck backed into a hotel’s loading dock late Saturday night. Things escalated between the two to the point that the driver felt his life was in danger.

Mark may have recovered, but his recollection of the matter doesn’t appear to be very strong. He told police that all he could remember was “grabbing for the window.”

Hotel security captured the NFL analyst getting into the person’s truck, stating that hotel staff gave him permission. The driver believed Mark was intoxicated at the time and slurring his words.

California attorney Nick Sanchez has apparently paid his cash bond. It’s not known if Mark has obtained official representation in the matter. An initial hearing into the matter is scheduled for 8:30 Tuesday morning.

The man who reportedly had an affair with Kim Kardashian years ago was replaced by Brady Quinn on Sunday’s Fox telecast.
