Bad Bunny was revealed to be playing the Super Bowl Halftime show last month. While the musician’s fans are delighted, there’s one sourpuss who definitely isn’t happy. Donald Trump has allegedly branded the decision “crazy”, despite reportedly saying he’d “never heard of him.”
Donald Trump called Bad Bunny a “ridiculous” choice for the Super Bowl Halftime show
Bad Bunny has been announced as the next Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. The decision was met with much praise from fans, including Jennifer Lopez.
Unfortunately, not everyone is as happy about the announcement. According to an insider, Donald Trump is somehow simultaneously disgusted at the decision and confused about who Bad Bunny is.
A source told Radar Online that POTUS said: “I never heard of him, I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s like, crazy.”
The source adds that Trump branded the decision: “absolutely ridiculous.” Apparently, he said he believed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was blaming the choice “on some promoter they hired.”
His outrage may have something to do with the Puerto Rican-born musician’s criticism of the president and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martinez, previously said he wouldn’t play shows in the US out of fear his fans may be targeted by ICE at the events.
The musician hosted Saturday Night Live last week. During his opening monologue, he addressed his Spanish-speaking fans in his native tongue.
After saying that his fans all over the world are happy about the Super Bowl gig, he added, in Spanish: “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”
