Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry’s romance has earned some unflattering comments from anonymous sources. Perry and Trudeau sparked dating rumors in July this year when they went out for what appeared to be a cozy dinner date in Montreal. The couple has reportedly been going steady since.
Justin Trudeau going through ‘midlife crisis’ with Katy Perry romance, sources say
Anonymous sources have likened Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry’s romance to a “midlife crisis.” According to a report by Page Six, a Canadian society source said, “Dating Katy may just be Justin’s answer to going to Burning Man. It’s a bit of a midlife crisis.”
The former Canadian Prime Minister resigned from his position in January this year. His resignation came roughly two years after his divorce from ex-wife Sophie Grégoire. Reportedly, Trudeau didn’t want his divorce to make headlines while he was in office. However, his ex-wife “pressed for it.”
According to the source, Trudeau is playing the field again and is ready to get back into the dating game. The source quipped, “He is sowing his oats all over again. He’s free from the ties of office and his marriage.”
A friend of Trudeau added to the anonymous source’s comments. The friend revealed that getting to be with Perry is like a “big exhale” for him. The 53-year-old politician spent his thirties and forties working and being “straitjacketed with his duties.”
Another source remarked that this high-profile relationship will benefit both Perry and Trudeau. The source stated, “They both need a boost, and it may be a mutually beneficial thing.”
The source credited Trudeau’s fascination with dating famous women to his father. Notably, Pierre Trudeau, also a former Canadian Prime Minister, dated Barbra Streisand and Kim Cattrall.
“I don’t think anyone that knows him is surprised that Justin would date someone famous. It does echo his father. It’s in his DNA to do this,” the source said.
Katy Perry split from her long-time fiancé, Orlando Bloom, in July. Shortly after, she began dating Justin Trudeau. The former Canadian Prime Minister shares three children with his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire.
