Jeremy Renner Reportedly in Relationship With Filmmaker

A recent report revealed that Jeremy Renner is dating a filmmaker 17 years his junior named Yi Zhou. It also shared that the pair is collaborating on two movies. The Marvel star was previously linked to influencer Cassandra Mason, with whom he reportedly had a secret eight-month romance, and prior to that, he was allegedly dating ex-convict hairdresser Amber Monson.

Jeremy Renner reportedly in relationship with Yi Zhou

According to a new report, Jeremy Renner is dating Yi Zhou. It comes from The Daily Mail, and the outlet learned from the Chinese filmmaker herself that her relationship with the 54-year-old actor turned romantic in recent months.

Zhou told the outlet that she worked on the love song, Rising Sun at the Edge of the Ocean, with the two-time Oscar nominee. According to Zhou, the song is about “redemption and the meaning of love that heals and changes us.”

Notably, the pair is working together on two projects: the documentary, Chronicles of Disney — where Renner is interviewed — and the AI-animated film Stardust Future: Stars and Scars, where Renner provides voiceover. Furthermore, Zhou revealed that she and Renner wrote the score of the documentary together.

The duo sparked relationship rumors in August 2025. This was after Yi Zhou shared a photo collage featuring herself and the Avengers actor on Instagram. The collage showed the two riding through the latter’s hometown in Reno, Nevada, in his convertible sports car.

Zhou defended Renner’s personal life and relationship choices, telling the Daily Mail that he had the right to live as he wished. “If he wanted something short or casual, or if he preferred not to commit, that is his choice,” she added.

Moreover, she praised the Mayor of Kingstown actor’s “humility” and “willingness to reflect and grow.” She added, “Even if a man buys you flowers, shoes, or bags, what does it mean if he is not willing to grow or change as a person?”

Last month, some tension occurred between Renner and Zhou. The latter commented under the former’s Instagram posts, heavily criticizing him and demanding respect. Moreover, she accused the actor of an alleged “secret weekend” he shared with a female social media influencer.

Zhou eventually deleted the comments, claiming they were a “misunderstanding.” She revealed that news stories about the court claims from Renner’s ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, regarding his alleged drug abuse and failure to take care of their daughter, Ava, sparked her social media outrage. Zhou also apologized for publicly commenting, saying it happened because of how shocked she was.

She also explained why she deleted her comments. Zhou said she wanted to give Renner a chance to make amends. She noted, “He deserves another chance in life.” The filmmaker continued, “After the accident he’s willing to change, and I want to believe that.”
