Finally giving in to the pressure mounting on all sides, Prince Andrew accepted his fate. Earlier today he released a statement that he is vacating his Duke of York designation, as well as the Order of the Garter.
In his statement, Andrew emphasized that it was his own decision to relinquish his titles. His mother, Queen Elizabeth, already stripped her younger son of his military titles and royal patronages in January 2022. Since taking the throne, Charles has been under pressure to go further.
But what of Andrew’s two daughters with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson? Even though their father has voluntarily given up his royal titles, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will be allowed to keep theirs.
Prince Andrew has given up all titles, but daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie retain theirs

Though their mother is no longer the Duchess of York, the princesses will both be allowed to retain their titles, according to the BBC. Despite neither of their parents being welcome, the girls will still be eligible to attend all the royal Christmas events this year. Including the royal luncheon.
Andrew’s longtime friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continued to follow him, despite his denials of any wrongdoing.
With the impending release of alleged victim Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir next week, the walls were closing in. Andrew was pressured to take action, as the Palace became increasingly frustrated with his scandals.
Though Andrew will no longer use the title Duke of York, he will nevertheless remain a prince. As the son of Queen Elizabeth, he was a designated a prince at birth.
