Celebrities often get wild fans who will do anything to meet them. Keanu Reeves had one such fan in New York City as he was leaving the theatre to get into his car. A woman struggled to reach him and started chasing him, calling herself his “divine wife.” Needless to say, his security worked overtime to keep him safe.

Keanu has been enjoying positive reviews for his portrayal of Estragon in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot adaptation. It’s Keanu’s Broadway debut and the first time he’s reunited with Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter, who plays the part of Vladimir.
Fans have come from all over to see the show, and many wait each night hoping for an autograph or a glimpse of Keanu as he makes his way home. Stage door crowds are normal for Broadway shows. Actors sometimes stop to sign a few autographs.
However, sometimes obsessive fans can pop up, too. One night after the show, Keanu waved to fans waiting outside the Hudson Theatre. He safely made it to his vehicle. But just as the door closed, a fan in a long-sleeved top and jeans struggled to get to his door, calling out his name.
Security jumped into action quickly and pulled her away from the vehicle as she continued shouting Keanu’s name and saying, “It’s your divine wife.” When they managed to successfully pull her away, she just pushed her way forward again. She ran to the car and tried to open the passenger door.
Eventually, security had to wrench her off the car and throw her to the ground. This gave Keanu’s vehicle ample time to safely pull away. She continued to follow as the car drove off, looking quite forlorn. Another fan caught the whole interaction on video.
Keanu has faced marriage rumors in the recent past. I wonder what his partner, Alexandra Grant, thinks about the star now having a divine spouse?
