Amidst his ongoing contract negotiations with SiriusXM, shock jock Howard Stern is said to be in major meltdown mode. The atmosphere surrounding his show has become so intense that staff are concerned he’s ready to quit.
The self-proclaimed King of All Media is reportedly feeling the pressure, as other SiriusXM personalities continue bringing in the ratings Howard saw in his heyday.
Howard Stern’s staff are said to be “walking on pins and needles” around him

Howard’s staff is taking on the brunt of his anger, according to RadarOnline.com. They fear he is on the verge of walking out and leaving them jobless. Recent reports reveal that his viewership has severely declined in recent years.
Insiders say Howard’s worries about becoming irrelevant in today’s environment have prompted the tense environment at his radio show. An inside source told RadarOnline.com, “Everyone is walking on pins and needles around Howard, fearful of triggering a major meltdown. They’re fearful he’ll throw in the towel and leave them abandoned and unemployed. It’s totally unfair. His staff has been nothing but loyal to Howard, and he’s treated them abominably and lured them in with paychecks that are only enough to pay for food and rent — but not buy a house like he has. Their very security hangs in the balance.”
There is also recent backlash over Howard’s criticism of his ongoing SiriusXM contract negotiations. He recently joked that Andy Cohen would take over his radio spot. The source revealed Howard is also envious of Alex Cooper’s $125 million three-year deal, although he denies knowing who she is. Following his show’s summer hiatus, Howard mentioned the rumor he was quitting because of Alex. The inside source said, “His jealousy knows no bounds. He doesn’t understand what she’s got that he hasn’t. It’s given him all the motivation to quit.”
Howard is “snapping at staffers and going on leftist political rants,” according to the source.
Howard joined SiriusXM in 2006, after leaving traditional radio due to FCC regulations and censorship. His most recent deal is reportedly $100 million a year. Although Howard had millions of listeners early on, his fan base has reportedly shrunk to under 150,000.
