Taylor Swift engagement seems to have had a polarizing effect on one of her ex-boyfriends.
The Fearless singer previously dated Joe Alwyn from 2016 until 2023. Shortly after their relationship ended, Taylor and Travis Kelce began dating and are now engaged.
After being together with Taylor for such a long time, many fans are speculating that Joe isn’t taking her engagement news well. By all accounts, it seems like it’s a complicated situation for the actor.

One might understand if Joe feels some resentment towards Taylor, whom he may have believed at one point was the one. Some reports, however, indicate he’s actually taking the news well.
“He genuinely hopes Taylor’s happy,” one source told RadarOnline. Suggestions of ill will could stem from the fact that he hasn’t reached out, either privately or publicly, to congratulate her. According to a source, he doesn’t see a reason to do so. “For him, it’s time to move on for good,” the source concludes.
Many Swifties believe the actor manifested her masters buyback earlier this year. At the same time, Travis and Taylor can’t seem to get away from the cameras, which wasn’t the case when she was dating Joe. The pair were incredibly private during their years together, and Joe’s remained that way since their breakup.
A source says Joe found their time together so meaningful, and when it ended, he didn’t want to turn it into gossip. Joe recently played Laertes in a reimagined film version of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. His newest movie, Panic Carefully, starring Julia Roberts, is currently in post-production.
