Ana de Armas did not shy away from revealing how Tom Cruise’s pursuit of her was ‘flattering’, but sources reveal that the whirlwind romance that was often moving too fast was not something Ana was looking for at the moment.
Reportedly, the pair began to date while shooting for the upcoming sci-fi film Deeper. Soon, the two were spotted together many times. Speculations were fast enough to catch up as they became the most discussed Hollywood pairing as well. But this also led to de Armas realizing what it meant to date one of the most famous men on the planet, as per sources.
Though they had great chemistry and things started to move briskly, the public appearances ceased suddenly. Sources reported at the time that the actress dumped Cruise for ‘micromanaging’ her with his hectic career schedule and controlling behaviour (via IB Times). Soon, insiders from Cruise’s side revealed that the actor felt betrayed by this sudden development.
Now, recent reports from Star alleged that De Armas felt that something about the relationship ‘didn’t feel right’. The insider added, “Ana has a lot going on in her career right now, and she needed to put herself first.” Friends of the actress further confirmed that she is relieved that the pressure is gone. They also revealed how Ana de Armas wanted to have this independent lifestyle.
Moreover, sources told US Weekly as well that the breakup was Ana’s decision. “Things were moving fast, and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going,” a source revealed. However, neither Cruise nor Ana de Armas has yet talked about it publicly.
