Despite setting a new franchise record on Sunday, Travis Kelce seemed disappointed by the Chiefs’ performance after their loss against the Denver Broncos. This result put the Kansas City Chiefs in a tough position to qualify for the playoffs, and Kelce’s frustration was written all over his face. Soon, his post-game comment after the loss went viral.
Travis Kelce refuses post-game talk after defeat against Broncos
The Kansas City Chiefs left the Empower Field at Mile High Stadium with a 22-19 loss against the Denver Broncos. This defeat puts the team at a greater risk of not making it to the postseason games. The Chiefs have now lost 4 out of 5 away games, and Travis Kelce did not look happy on Sunday about the Chiefs’ latest result.
His post-game comment went viral after he declined to answer any questions when approached by a reporter. Kelce reportedly said, “If you’re going to ask me about the record, I could care less about that right now.”
This comment came after Kelce surpassed Priest Holmes’ record of most touchdowns in the league during the Broncos game. He celebrated with his teammates after scoring his 84th touchdown, but following the loss, he chose not to comment on the milestone. In addition to his record-breaking touchdown, Kelce also caught 9 passes for 91 yards during the game.
However, the Chiefs now stand third at 5-5 in the AFC West division. With seven games remaining before the postseason, they will need to win at least five to keep their playoff hopes alive.
On the other hand, after their win against the Chiefs, the Denver Broncos are now 9-2, dominating the AFC West division. The Kansas City Chiefs will play their next game at Arrowhead Stadium, facing the Indianapolis Colts, who are the current leaders of the AFC South division and have a 2-2 away game record this season.
