Celebrity Big Brother

Weekly Reality TV Listings January 27- February 2

Is there such a thing as “too much” reality TV? We don’t think so. Even so, there are a lot of shows to keep track of! We are here to make your TV viewing a little bit easier. Check out our reality TV listings of shows to watch this week!

Celebrity Big Brother Week 1 Recap: You’ve Just Been ‘Mooched’

So how much is too much Celebrity Big Brother? CBS asked that question this past week with FOUR new episodes to kick-off its 2nd season! The celebrity edition is definitely more of a sprint than the marathon in comparison to the “normal” Big Brother show. Still, through its first week, Celebrity Big Brother has absolutely lived up to the show’s motto: “Expect the unexpected.” Let’s dive into the highlights and my reaction to the show now that we’ve witnessed the first elimination episode of Season 2!

As I always state up-front – and much like my Survivor column for this very same outlet – what I plan to bring you this season isn’t exactly a blow-by-blow “recap” of the show, but rather my thoughts, analysis, and reaction to the episode (or episodes) that we just witnessed. In other words, I’ll assume that you’ve seen the episode(s) each time, so please, please, PLEASE, if you do not want to have the show spoiled, don’t read any further until you’ve seen the episode(s)!

Celebrity Big Brother Premiere Recap: Expect The Unexpected!

As Joey Lawrence would say, “Woah!” The second-ever American version of Celebrity Big Brother kicked off last night with the first half of a two-night premiere. The second half airs tonight. It served mainly as an introductory episode: To the house, to the game and to the 12 “celebrities” that will compete for the $250,000 grand prize. I am ecstatic to be bringing you “recaps” of Celebrity Big Brother this season and I for one feel like we’re off to a very interesting start!

So why were the words “celebrities” and “recaps” put in quotes, you might ask? Well, that’s because it would be hard not to notice that the 12 contestants this season are not exactly…how shall I say…household names. How do you know you’re not a celebrity? Well for one, you find yourself competing on Celebrity Big Brother, for a cash grand prize and not for your favorite charity. In the same vein – and much like my Survivor column for this very same outlet – what I plan to bring you this season isn’t exactly a blow-by-blow “recap” of the show, but rather my thoughts, analysis, and reaction to the episode (or episodes) that we just witnessed. In other words, I’ll assume that you’ve seen the episode(s) each time, so please, please, PLEASE, if you do not want to have the show spoiled, don’t read any further until you’ve seen the episode(s)!

Kandi Burruss

The Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers know that Kandi Burress is uber competitive. We can’t wait to see how her competitive prowess plays out on this season of Celebrity Big Brother.

Kandi won’t be the first Real Housewife to be a Big Brother houseguest. In its first season, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Brandi Glanville, made it to day 24 out of 26 after two back to back nominations for eviction. What will be Kandi’s strategy to avoid getting dragged in this b*tch put on the block?

Dina-Lohan-Celebrity-Big-Brother

Lindsay Lohan is not the only Lohan family member making a return to reality TV. Her infamous momager Dina Lohan will be a part of Celebrity Big Brother Season 2. This means that she will be locked up in a house without the ability to watch Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club.

Even though Dina will not be able to keep in touch with Lindsay and her other children while she’s in the Celebrity Big Brother House, Lindsay helped her prepare. Plus, if Lindsay wants to see what’s up to she can just check out the live feeds or tune into the show itself, which will be on a few times a week starting January 21.

RHOA-Kandi-Burruss

The Season 2 Celebrity Big Brother cast has been announced! Just like a lot of “celebrity” reality TV shows, there are some familiar names along with others that will have you asking “Who?”

Longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen will return as host when the show starts up its second season in a couple weeks.

Brandi Glanville Temporarily Quit Her Podcast After Scheana Marie Got A Podcast With The Same Company & Lisa Vanderpump Wouldn’t Let Scheana Appear On Brandi’s Show; Says Scheana Was “Scared” To Post Photos With Her

Are you even a reality TV star if you don’t have a podcast? At this point, hosting your own podcast has become a rite of passage for reality TV stars. Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Brandi Glanville has had one for a while and now Vanderpump Rules cast member (and Brandi’s ex-husband’s former mistress) Scheana Marie has her own show as well.

Even though Brandi and Scheana have made peace, it still rubbed Brandi the wrong way when she found out that Scheana had a podcast with the same company that had a very similar premise to her own. To make matters worse, Brandi’s longtime enemy (and Scheana’s boss) Lisa Vanderpump’s influence over Scheana caused Brandi to (temporarily) quit her own show.

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville is really not ready to leave reality TV behind her. In addition to appearing on Family Boot Camp, she also just announced that she’ll be joining Celebrity Big Brother. This is after she already did the UK version.

Brandi was actually a last-minute addition to the U.S. Celebrity Big Brother house. She said she got the invitation days before casting was announced, and had nothing better to do (this time), so she jumped right in! At least she can admit that reality TV hopping is her profession, although Brandi worries the other housemates already know her weaknesses from watching her on TV SO. MANY. TIMES.
