Real Housewives of Potomac is off and running. In case you missed this week’s episode, it was jam packed with fun already. Bless these ladies for always bringing it, no matter how early in the season.
But while the drama and shade hasn’t changed, the cast this season certainly has. Newbie housewife Mia Thornton has already entered the mix, dishing on her plastic surgery and elderly husband. And she’s bringing the heat in a future episode, where she is seen throwing a handful of salad at castmate Candiace Dillard Bassett. So with all that Mia is bringing to the table, it’s no surprise that Monique Samuels, who quit the show after a disastrous last season, isn’t really missed by the ladies.
Wendy Osefo is fully brining it to her second season of Real Housewives of Potomac. We have already seen a surgically enhanced Wendy, which she proudly showed off at her Nude Interlude party. Wendy got her boobs, butt and some “tweaks” here and there. While her boobs were on full display, it wasn’t until newbie Mia Thornton admitted to having her butt done that Wendy coughed up the truth about hers. Which is fine, we all knew it anyway.
But Wendy is also bringing it in the form of drama, already sparring with Mia. For whatever reason, Wendy doesn’t really seem to be feeling Mia. She’s blaming it on the fact that Mia didn’t seem very loyal to Karen Huger during the Gizelle Bryant dust up at dinner. You know, the one where Karen threw around terms like “hot box” and “Sing Sing”. And Wendy has no problem putting her disdain for Mia out there. Maybe she’s been taking lessons from Gizelle. Gizelle is notoriously hard on newbies. Well, if we are being honest, she’s hard on everyone except fellow Green Eyed Bandit, Robyn Dixon. Who truly is bringing the least once again. But that’s another story.
Now that the Real Housewives of Potomac has made its triumphant return to my TV screen, all of my excited energy is going toward the upcoming second season of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The SLC ladies had an explosive first season with so many iconic moments already, many involving the unique character that is Mary Cosby. Otherwise known as the woman who lives in her closet, is married to her step-grandfather and fell asleep during the Season 1 reunion. Mary’s made more than a few questionable statements in the past, from telling Jen Shah she smells like hospital to tone-deaf statements about poor people. But one thing’s for sure — she’s someone you cannot look away from when she comes on screen.
It’s obvious that Mary and Jen will probably never have a real relationship, especially considering Jen’s fraud allegations that will undoubtedly be a major part of Season 2. But they really seems to be more alike than they are different. They both are the only minorities on the show. They both make pretty stupid statements from time to time. And they’re both so over-the-top in their own unique ways. So it’s a bit of a shame they can’t kiss and make up.
Gizelle Bryant’s dating history has always raised eyebrows since the beginning of the Real Housewives of Potomac. Gizelle is a beautiful and successful single woman, who seems to attract men who, frankly, aren’t worthy of her. If you asked Karen Huger, she’d blame it on her “fiery box” (whatever that means). However, it just seems as though Gizzy can’t find Mr. Right. And maybe that’s why she has no problem going around and talking about her co-stars’ marriages. Can I get an amen, Wendy Osefo?
Gizelle’s latest man was a blast from her past — Jamal Bryant, the father of her daughters. Yes, Pastor Holy Whore. Otherwise known as Jamal Who Lives In The Phone. The second Gizzy took him back, everyone had their guard up. Jamal doesn’t have the best track record of, well, keeping it in his pants (allegedly). And after his failure to show up for Gizzy literally last season, the validity of their entire relationship came into question. We should’ve listened to the Grand Dame all along.
The ladies of The Real Housewives of Potomac are once again reigning supreme. They’re in their prime and delivering explosive season after season. They can’t do anything wrong. Things are already heating up on the sixth season of the franchise. Gizelle Bryant & Karen Huger are destined to be frenemies until the end of time. The level of vitriol between the pair is palpable.
Wendy Osefo underwent quite the second season glow up, and she is SERVING us. Her “nude interlude” on the premiere episode also introduced viewers to Mia Thornton. She’s already radiating messy and delusional vibes, so this should be good. She also serves as a genuine ally for Karen which The Grand Dame desperately needs. It’ll be interesting to see how she continues to vibe with the women. Who will she rub the wrong way first?
There was an atmospheric big chill happening at Wendy Osefo’s “Nude Interlude” party, and it had nothing to do with the distance due north to Wendy’s house or the fact there was snow on the ground. It was spillage from last season of Real Housewives of Potomac. And since this marked the first time the ladies congregated in awhile, leftover drama was bound to come up. It may not have been addressed, but it was festering in the room.
A well-timed GI issue kept Candiace Dillard home, while newbie Mia Thornton was introduced to the group as Karen Huger’s friend. The rest of the ladies with residual issues from Season 5 were finally face to face. And while some conflicts were clearly on display, other issues have yet to come up and it’s only through the world of social media that us RHOP know that there is some juicy drama to anticipate.
Real Housewives of Potomac season six is finally upon us and I for one couldn’t be happier. Despite the surprising news that Monique Samuels will not be returning, RHOP promises to be another drama packed season. Good, because frankly, I’m already bored watching more abysmal work from the other franchises. Honestly how much more can I endure of Erika Bamboozle Jayne pretending that her sham divorce is real? I can’t.
Anyway, with the exit of Monique, a new addition to the RHOP has arrived in the form of Mia Thornton. While we don’t know much about her yet, sounds like we are going to get to know her quite well. But before we get there, Mia is revealing how some of her cast relationships are going to play out.
My brain these days is 95% occupied with thoughts about the Real Housewives of Potomac. And frankly, I’m not mad about it. The ladies of Potomac made their Season 6 debut finally and it was exactly what Real Housewives dreams are made of. No one is doing it like them. Wendy Osefo’s party for her new additions, Happy & Ness. Candiace Dillard’s struggles to do elementary school math. The chaotic energy that exudes from newbie Mia Thornton. And, as always, the season kicked off with an over-the-top argument between Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant that involved a whole lot of messy insults. I feel ALIVE now that the streets of Potomac are BUZZING BABY.
Gizelle and Karen’s feud will go down in history as one of the best on Bravo. That’s a hill I will die on. Since Season 1 of RHOP, they always find a way to go back and forth. And honestly, it’s hard to be ride-or-die with one side because they’re both so good at throwing shade and exposing one another. Whether it’s La Dame exposing Jamal Bryant Who Lives In The Phone or Gizzy questioning Karen’s rented mansion, all bets are off when it comes to these two. Honestly, sometimes, I forget that they ever even started the show as friends — they’re the textbook definition of frenemies.
