The coronavirus pandemic disrupted life in very visible ways. Schools were closed, non-essential employees worked from home, and Netflix became a whole lot more popular. What was not apparent at first was how the lockdown would affect our guilty pleasure of watching reality TV. Specifically, of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Cutting filming and production will create a lag time between the most recent season and the next.
Back in March, filming for Season 11 was cut short amid fears for the health of cast and crew. At that point, RHONJ was only a few episodes in before production was shut down. The Garden State has seemingly gained control of the coronavirus. As a result, the network has released a tentative timeline to resume filming.
Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice have been through hell and back. Since the couple’s debut on Real Housewives of New Jersey they have had major ups and downs. From losing their parents and having their family fall apart.
We have seen the couple go head to head with Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga many times throughout the years. The longtime couple has never backed down from a fight, no matter who it is with. Joe Giudice is now taking his old moves that he previously reserved for his brother-in-law and moving them into the boxing ring!
It has been a difficult few years for the Giudice/Gorga family, to say the least. Earlier this month, Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga shared the heartbreaking news that their father Giacinto Gorga passed away. “Nonno,” as he was referred to by his family, was a beloved character by his grandchildren and RHONJ fans alike.
Since Nonno’s passing on April 3rd, Teresa and Joe have both been sharing family photos on their respective Instagram accounts. Their kids have posted sweet messages and tributes to their grandfather. Joe Giudice also posted some touching tributes to his father-in-law. Now, Melissa Gorga is speaking out on how the family is coping with their loss.
For years, Real Housewives of New Jersey viewers have been invested in the Manzo/Laurita family members. We met Dina Manzo and Caroline Manzo during the show’s very first episode. They are sisters who were married to the Manzo brothers. Dina has since divorced and re-married.
Jacqueline Laurita was another OG RHONJ cast member. She is married to Caroline and Dina’s brother Chris Laurita. Dina and Caroline have been infamously estranged for years, but it’s unclear if they had been in contact recently because of a family tragedy. Chris, Dina, and Caroline’s father Joseph Laurita has passed away.
Last season of Real Housewives of New Jersey was epic on so many levels. There was the altercation in a clothing boutique, courtesy of Margaret Josephs and Danielle Staub. Margaret poured water on Danielle’s head. Then Danielle dumped out the contents of Margaret’s purse into a lit candle.
Before leaving the shop, Danielle grabbed Margaret’s ponytail and gave it a vicious yank. That looked incredibly painful. In the wildest moment of the RHONJ season, Danielle revealed to Melissa Gorga that Danielle’s bestie Teresa Giudice told Danielle to pull Margaret’s hair.
One of the saddest stories to come out of the Bravo family in a long time was the death of Teresa Giudice’s father, Giacinto Gorga. We all know him as the affectionately named “Nonno” from the show. Nonno passed away on April 3rd and most of his family has opened up their hearts and shared their grief on social media since then. Both Teresa and Joe Gorga’s kids posted loving thoughts and messages on Instagram. So did Joe Giudice, saying of his father-in-law, “Thank you for setting an example for us and my girls-you’re an exemplary example. We benefited from it every day.”
It’s going to be hard to watch Real Housewives of New Jersey without Nonno. Throughout the years, we’ve seen him as the center of his entire family. We even saw his grief when his beloved wife, Antonia Goga died back in 2017. I will never forget watching Nonno cry over missing his wife. But Nonno gave us so many good times on the show and it’s clear that it’s not just his family that will miss him.
Real Housewives of New Jersey fans learned the sad news that Giacinto Gorga, the father of Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga, passed away on April 3. It was clear that Giacinto, known as “Nonno,” had struggled with health issues recently. Both Melissa Gorga, and Teresa had asked fans to pray for the beloved patriarch of the Gorga family.
Nonno was a part of RHONJ from the very beginning. Nonno loved being in the kitchen. He could boil an octopus like nobody’s business, and I loved seeing him cook with his granddaughters. Ever since the death of Nonno’s wife, Antonia, Nonno had been living with Teresa and her four daughters. He was a huge part of their lives, and a support during Joe Giudice’s incarceration and deportation woes.
After months of sharing health updates with Real Housewives of New Jersey fans, Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga have shared that their father, Giacinto Gorga, passed away this morning. Giacinto, affectionately known as “Nonno” to his grandchildren and family members has been a beloved part of RHONJ for many years.
Both of the siblings broke the news this afternoon via Instagram post.
