Real Housewives of Orange County alums Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley have a baby girl on the way. It’s the couple’s first child together and they could not be more excited, especially after their tough journey to conceive.
Gretchen and Slade had a lavish baby shower for their soon-to-be baby girl Skylar Gray at the Seven 7 Seven in Laguna Beach, CA. There were actually a lot of past and present Bravolebrities present at the party. The event was beautifully decorated thanks to Ice Age Glacial Water, Chandon Champagne, Distillery 291, Glamour Flower Boutiquet, The Balloon Box, and Invitation Design Studio.
It looks likes the ladies of Real Housewives of Atlanta know how to keep the drama, and the paychecks, flowing. Season 11 of the show got off to a very slow start, but in the end, the season delivered. Eva Marcille finally tied the knot. NeNe Leakes dealt with her husband Gregg Leakes’ battle with colon cancer and with marital strife. Thankfully, he is cancer-free now. Cynthia Bailey found love again with Mike Hill. Newbie Shamari DeVoe was accused of having a drinking problem by Marlo Hampton. Porsha Williams fell in love with Dennis McKinley, got engaged, and gave birth to daughter Pilar (and a baby spin-off special!)
In a shocking turn of events, NeNe destroyed her longtime friendship with Cynthia because Cynthia did not advise NeNe that former RHOA star Kenya Moore might be at Cynthia’s party. NeNe, never one to be shy, referred to a glowing and pregnant Kenya as a “monster.” As for Cynthia, she looked shady about whether she knew Kenya was going to be at the party.
When storylines or cast members from our favorite shows become redundant and played out, we often call for new people to join the group. Such is the case for Real Housewives of Atlanta. I mean, how many times have we seen NeNe Leakes mad at someone or Kandi Burrus promoting one of her new business ventures? The same folks engaging in the same arguments year after year can wear on our nerves, or GASP, lower the ratings.
One might believe it would be easy to bring new ladies on and incorporate them into an existing reality television show. The programs are, after all, incredibly popular. But it might be more difficult than we think. With repeated drunken arguments and women attempting to see what levels of petty can be reached, some of the more “famous” candidates for shows do not want to participate. Eva Marcille transitioned from successful model to Housewife, but it has come with a personal price tag. While Atlanta is a hot bed of talent and high-level music industry people, they aren’t exactly clamoring to be a part of the overall messiness. Reputations are tainted and friendships are ended. If you already have a “name”, chances are good you have better things to do than argue for six months out of a year.
As fans of Real Housewives of Atlanta know, NeNe Leakes’ husband Gregg was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. Viewers watched Gregg battle this disease with courage and his unwavering faith.
Gregg traveled many roads during this journey. His marriage suffered, along with his health. NeNe was especially vocal about how difficult it was to find herself in the role of a caregiver. She often chided Gregg for his grumpiness and overall attitude. While he experienced several setbacks, there is light at the end of the tunnel. In April, Gregg completed his chemotherapy treatments and was celebrated with a party thrown by his wife. Thankfully, Gregg and his family have even more reason to celebrate this month.
During Season 11 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss introduced us to her sexy burlesque/variety show “Welcome To The Dungeon.” Cynthia Bailey even made an appearance, which was incredibly awkward.
Kandi and mother-to-be Porsha Williams ventured into NeNe Leakes’ mystery closet, when they were told not to go there. A camera man’s shirt was ripped, and NeNe might have pulled off Porsha’s belt. We still don’t know what was in this closet. Bravo- we need to know!
The buzzword for the Real Housewives of New York this season has been “cabaret.” If Luann de Lesseps is not promoting her cabaret act, another cast member is talking about it. On this week’s episode, Dorinda Medley, Tinsley Mortimer and Bethenny Frankel even thought about using “cabaret” as the secret word to drink on at Luann’s new house. Which might not be so appropriate at the home of a newly recovering alcoholic. But, as they say, life is a cabaret!
Before Luann was an internationally famous cabaret star, she was just a simple girl trying to promote her music career and become the Autotune Queen of the Dance Charts. Although Luann had some past success with the song Money Can’t Buy You Class, she never really reached the heights of music superstardom. Now, Luann is launching a new single in her quest for fame and the music video for it is starring a few of our very own Housewives.
There was a one-woman wrecking crew on Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 11, and her name was NeNe Leakes. She struggled with husband Gregg Leakes’ colon cancer diagnosis and his grouchiness. She torpedoed her long-time friendship with co-star Cynthia Bailey after Cynthia didn’t notify NeNe that RHOA alum Kenya Moore may be coming to Cynthia’s wine cooler launch. NeNe even called a pregnant Kenya “a monster.”
When NeNe held her “Bye Wig” party, guests Kandi Burruss and pregnant Porsha Williams disobeyed NeNe and went into NeNe’s closet. An enraged Nene yanked a cameraman out of the closet, ripping his shirt. There is also some controversy over whether NeNe pulled off Porsha’s belt.
Is your wildest dream about to come true? Or is this your worst nightmare? Regardless of how you feel about Kenya Moore, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of gray area. It’s either love her or hate her with little in between. After Kenya left Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2017, she finally got her wish of becoming a mom. Daughter, Brooklyn Daly was born in November 2018. While we did not get to see a lot of Kenya’s pregnancy on film, she did show up to a Cynthia Bailey function during Season 11 of RHOA. Her mere presence caused NeNe Leakes to have another
big baby tantrum meltdown, which eventually lead to the demise of her friendship with Cynthia.
So, along with husband Marc Daly and her new baby, is Twirl ready to sign on the dotted line and come back? Viewers and current cast members seem to think a shakeup is necessary. Some want Phaedra Parks back. Some want NeNe to leaveleave. But for the out and proud Kenya fans, and the closet fans who won’t admit it, it looks like your time might be coming after all.
