Kate Gosselin is gracing the latest cover of PEOPLE magazine and she’s showing off her new look!
The mother of eight is moving on and putting her nasty divorce and old hairstyle behind her. “It’s good to have hair again,” she told People of her longer new look, aided by extensions . “I never thought I’d have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life.”
Kate also opens up about her very public divorce to Jon Gosselin - “I got phone calls from my friends congratulating me,” she told PEOPLE. “But I felt like, ‘You’re congratulating me on a failed marriage?’ I knew what they were getting at, because I am starting over and cutting ties from something that was really dragging me down, but it was a rough day. I wasn’t prepared for the intensity of the emotion involved.”
Kate is now moving on and even open to finding new love.“I’m not going to rule it out,” she said. “But right now it’s not my focus. Being alone at the end of every day, I’m not liking that – it’s been a long time, and I feel that loneliness. But I’m not going to go running in the direction of finding someone.”
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom however makes it clear that her kids remain her number one priority. “I’ve got to get my kids back on track, my career back on track and my family back on track,” she said making it clear that her kids are “really struggling” with their dad’s absence. “They start counseling in the next two weeks,” she said. “I’m definitely seeing signs that it’s a major need at this point.”
Kate also acknowledges that money is an issue for her family. It has been rumored that Jon was ordered to pay $10,000 a month in child support. “I have a lot of debt to crawl out of,” she claimed. “Debt that shouldn’t be there. I have a lot of anger about that. But it’s nothing that good, hard work won’t fix.”
As for what’s next for Kate? “Now I get to start over in a new year, with a new self and new goals,” she said. “Oh yeah – and new hair!”

It looks like a very bad wig, I guess Kate THINKS she looks sexy. Kim Zolciak has better wig. That’s saying a lot.

At a certain age longer hair makes you look older, I think Kate may have reached that age.
Honestly, the extensions do not make her look better, but the hair style she was wearing had became a joke, maybe if the extensions were shoulder length it would look more natural. I think Kate should fire her stylist.

Kate’s trying too hard to look like a young California girl. Instead of going this route — which looks ridiculous — she should have cropped her hair to an even level and styled it differently. She could easily pull off a Sharon Stone-type short style.
I agree with the others who said her extensions look like a cheap knock-off of a Kim Zolciak wig!

Hopefully, this new change will mean that I NEVER AGAIN have to see another woman with the porcupine hair that Kate once had.
No matter what angle Kate was photographed in, there is nothing like seeing her former style on a woman in real life. It is so ugly – the hair in back is cut like a guy’s and the top sticks straight up like spines on a porcupine.

Kate really needs advice from a good stylist when taking on these big projects. I feel like they always go so far overboard. The hair may have been more acceptable and “real” like if it was to her shoulders or an angled bob. Going from really, really short to really long is just so drastic and comes off as looking fake. She’s a pretty lady but seems to get really bad advice regarding styling. If done the right way, she’d not have looked so silly to so many.
I think the hair is a little much, too extreme. I tired of hearing about her money issues, give me a freakin’ break, the woman has money.
I think the makeover looks good. Looks like new makeup as well. I assume she got the makeover for free.

I just read on Yahoo News that Kate’s new hair style cost SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!
Kate’s whining about how Jon left her in debt, but it looks like she’s got her own spending problems. She’s so used to the pampered celebrity lifestyle that she’s having difficulty re-focusing on being a good mother and provider.
No where in the article did it say that the makeover was donated, so who knows? But instead of looking to make herself over while faced with the loss of income and partner, Kate would do well to tone it down and worry more about her kids than her looks!

$7000 does sound like a lot. If it is her own money that could go to the kids than it is shocking. If it was money donated by US weekly then I cant blame her for taking the free makeover.

I imagine that the magazine paid for the makeover. Kate would never spend that kind of money. She’s pretty tighfisted even when making millions.

I read a while back that she spends in excess of $35,000 a MONTH in maintenance for herself and her kids. My parents raised 8 kids; my daughter is raising 5 now and neither one of them spent anywhere near $35,000 a month!!
Kate spends plenty, and it’s not all on the kids. Look at her clothes, her makeup, her handbags …
By the way, WHERE ARE THE KIDS? Why are we always seeing these two famewhore losers out on the town, getting made up, smoking cigarettes, etc without their children? Now that the gravy train derailed, I don’t think either one of them wants to be bothered with those kids.
Those extensions are extremely expensive and so is the upkeep. She is banking on this leading to some kind of offer for another tv show, so she is probably looking at it as an investment. I have yet to hear about anything in the works that has been confirmed by Bravo, or any other network.
For all of the money she spends, she should be able to find better clothing than the casual purple tops she wears.
