After months of saying she was open to having baby #2, it seems Bethenny Frankel has had a change of heart.
The Bethenny Getting Married star, who is reportedly in negotiations to return to the Real Housewives of NYC, tells Parade.com in a new interview that she does not want another baby. “Jason wants to have another baby, and I don’t. So that’s another problem,” said Bethenny when asked if she was already trying for a new baby.
Bethenny however makes it clear just how much she adores her baby girl Bryn Hoppy, who is now a healthier 9 1/2 pounds at three and a half months old.
“Bryn’s a big pink baby now,” said Bethenny to Parade while hosting a press conference for drugstore.com. “Bryn likes pink — it’s her new favorite color. She is really growing up, and it is making me upset.”
And when it comes to her favorite pastime with baby Bryn, Bethenny shares, “We sing for an hour every day. I sing to her, and Bryn sings back. We sing Rihanna, Pink, gangsta rap.”
In other Bethenny news, the NYDailyNews is reporting today that during the Drugstore event, Bethenny took a swipe at her fellow Bravo housewife Danielle Staub.
Danielle, who has been fired from the Real Housewives of New Jersey, has told the press she is working on a solo reality show. It seems however that Bethenny, the only Bravo housewife to get her own solo spin off show on the network, is not willing to share that title, well at least not with Danielle.
“I’ll bet everything I hope to be that she will not have a spinoff on Bravo,” is what Bethenny is quoted as saying. Ouch.
She is her own publicist for goodness sakes and need to bring drama to RH. Married to nice guy? Check. Pregnancy, cute baby? Check. Whether or not to have another is the natural progression. Get ready for unplanned #2, that would be good TV. Could stretch being “late” and attendant anxiety over several episodes.

Its probably a little too soon to be thinking about baby #2 at this point. Wait until the baby routine becomes second nature and the baby starts being a little more independent and she’ll probably have another one. I really like Bethenny and I think she’ll break down and do it. If for anything, for Jason! He seems like a good man and he’ll get her to agree to a second one….
I’m kinda hoping that Danielle gets her own show….. thats an absolute trainwreck waiting to happen, and I can’t wait! LOL

Bethenny has said that she didn’t want another baby over and over again,so I’m not surprised at this. I think Jason though he could change her mind.
Bethenny also has made no bones about her dislike for The Strega,so this doesn’t surprise me either.

Three and a half months old and only 9 1/2 pounds? That’s awfully small. Are all preemies that tiny?
Would someone please point me to the official confirmation from Bravo that Danielle Staub was fired? I can only find secondary sources spreading this story. Not saying she wasn’t fired, but if it’s true why hasn’t Bravo confirmed it? I think is a huge publicity stunt to garner high ratings for the finale and reunion shows during an otherwise thoroughly lack lustre season. Mark my words, Staub will be back next year on RHONJ. Without her they may as well rename the show “Watch These Women Watch Paint Dry”.
I don’t think a baby is something that should be rushed into. She should wait until it’s something she and Jason both want and then adopt. I think she worries about going through another pregnancy since she had complications with a blood clot and early delivery with Bryn. Adoption is probably a safer, lower risk option for them. She and Jason going through the adoption process would also be more interesting to watch on her show than another natural pregnancy since it’s less common.

I’m with Nina Granta – Bethenny not wanting Baby #2 is an “issue” designed to entice viewers into tuning in to her reality show every week. See Bethenny wine (incorrect spelling intentional), hear Bethenny wine, watch Bethenny wine. It’s all to create a persona of Drama Mama and make Jason look like he got shortchanged instead of hitting the lottery with Frankel and Company. I will watch the show regardless of whether B is sincere or not because at the end of the day she still cracks me up!
Oh please, no more bethanny and no more Danielle. Enough is enough.
Take away the pain please. No more Bethanny. I’m so sick of her one liners and crying. I can’t take it. Also, let it be true that Danielle won’t be back. Get some fresh talent please.
Hmmmm…..I am not quite sure that I am feeling Bethenny’s tone when she says that Jason wants to have another baby and I don’t. I am really hoping that she isn’t one of these 21st century women who want it all but without the man present constantly as in a marriage. I have seen it all too often…(Halle Berry) these women moan and moan about wanting to have it all career and family, but what they are really saying is I want it all just not the conventional way. I won’t be too surprised if she gave Jason the boot and try to have Bryn all to herself….I mean she has IT all now doesn’t she?
Now all of the recent photos have all been just her and Bryn ….where the F is Jason? After doing BGM, he can’t claim to be camera shy……I am now thinking that maybe there is some truth to this being somewhat of an arrangement……hmmmmmmmm
Bethenny Gets Married? I love this show. To me, it reminds me of shows a long time ago. It makes me laugh, and I love the entire cast.
As far as a second baby, she is 39 yrs old, and it’s not easy to conceive. I feel she will be private about this topic.
As far as the HW of NJ, how could Bravo ask the 3 back while the auction of Guidices things are being auctioned off?

Really people do the math….. she’s in her forties, Bryn is not even 1 years old yet, newly married to boot, why would having another baby be on the top of her list of things to do.

This is exactly why I’m so on the fence about B. One minute she’s the ambitious go getter skinny girl empire builder. The next minute she’s Spencer Pratt, willing to slam people just to get media attention.
Yumi, I guess another baby would be a top priority (if wanted) due to her age, since she is (very) fast approaching being to old to have another child.
Personally, I’m tired of Bethenny. She was sort of funny on RHNY, but now just seems so full of herself and isn’t really charming enough to carry it through (at least to me).

Bethenny…I can take her or leave her. Her one-liners are witty. However, they are at others’ expense. She can be hurtful and doesn’t seem to care. Although, she does poke fun at herself at times.
Jason is on a roller coaster. I don’t think he’s ready to get off. But, I do think he would like to know when they’re nearing a loop and not hear about it in the media.
Thinking about baby #2 when Bryn is only 3 months old is a little overwhelming. Especially with a high risk pregnancy and building an “empire”. I do believe she’s very thankful and grateful she has a beautiful baby as a loving husband. Baby steps.
I do think that Bethenny is in a wholesome place now and doesn’t want any comparisons to Danielle.
@13 Valerie…..I hear what you are saying. I wanted to have children and be a stay-at-home mom. I didn’t have a career, and I was fortunate enough that I had a husband with a great long-running business. My husband and I have 4 “kids”. We wanted to have children, and I was healthy….no super serious problems. I love my children dearly, and know that it takes a lot of love, energy, and time. I also didn’t use a nanny. I hope that Bethenny has another child because she wants to, and not just because Jason wants to. I wish nothing but the best to them. Cookie is a rascal, but she’s a cutie! Loves her “mommy”.

based on seeing B’s mug plastered all over the place at different events, explain to me how she spends any time with baby #1 let alone thinking about baby #2. You can’t do all that press and all those events and still be taking enough time for your child – its just not possible. Bryn is being raised by nannies and her dad. I’ve said it before and its sad every time I think about it, but Bryn is just a prop in Bethenny’s “brand”.

I would also like to add that the negotiation w/ Bravo will soon come to an end now that the B has discovered that DWTS doesn’t want her. She would become even more anorexic. I see a sour grapes, pregnancy for press in the not so distant future. She’s allowed to change her mind, but others are ‘crazy’ for doing the same.

@31 , welcome back, what Bethenny wanted was what we used to call a “Dynasty Baby”, whats that you ask, well it’s when the baby is brought in by the nanny in morning while dining and the mother bills and coos at it and then hands it back off to the nanny while she gets on with her.

@ 34 puhp: Good to see you back! I never thought anything you posted was so bad that you should be banned. Crazy, just crazy. BTW, you mentioned Joan. Haven’t seen her name in a while either. And someone else mentioned Tweety. Is it just vacation time or are people gone?
I don’t understand why all of her honesty is either mean or nice because the people are connected to her in someway. She’ll say nice things about Ramona and Alex (her friends) or Jason (her husband) but I’ve never heard her say something nice about anyone else. “Honestly”, she’s a mean person. I can’t see how someone who seems to hate people so much could actually be happy…
The only advice I can give to Bethany about the second child thing (not that she asked) is to think about what is more important to you and your future in the long term.
1) It is too soon to make up your mind. Bryn is only 3 months old. You need time for this to become second nature, and it will. The over the top precautions and obsessions you take/have with Bryn will loosen up considerably as you come to know your child like no one else can. I had a friend who fired her baby sitter for letting her first baby crawl off the blanket onto the bare floor. Fast Forward years later to the fourth child. Third child has fourth child, a toddler, on the front of his handle bars and is pumping away down the street with his little sister sitting/holding onto the front handle bars and squealing happily. Even Dad wants to know if she would have allowed her first to do that.
2) Your husband, your lover, your life partner, your emotional partner through life, wants a second child. He isn’t asking for 4, 5, 6 kids. He loves and adores you and Bryn. He would like a spare since he has experienced the devastation on his parents and himself (now an only child) when his brother died. YOU may not have experienced this particular horror, but he has. This is the person who will (probably) be there until the end of your life or his.
3) Bryn will have a sibling to go through life with, her children will have cousins from HER side of the family (and I am sure you, as their grandmother, will be the a big influence on all of them). These may seen inconsequential, but it is not.
4) You might spend a little less time at the office, a little less time traveling promoting your brand, you might have to adjust your schedule to accommodate your family a little more with two children rather than with just one. But, have you ever heard anyone, at the end of their days on earth, say they wish they had spent more time at the office.
I realize you are young, energetic, ambitious, and obviously feel driven by becoming successful and wealthy. What time of life to accomplish these things then now when you have the youth and energy to do them. Totally understandable.
But, in the end, it is your husband and your children who are going to be there and who are going to love you. Your husband and children who are going to tell you like it is with love and loyalty and support you.
You probably can’t imagine what influence you could have as a grandparent, especially since you never experienced it (I assume). But you would be surprised. Just recently one friend of mine was informed she was the most important person in her grandson’s life. True, he is only 4, but he meant it, for now.
Give it a little more thought Bethany. If you decide to go for it, it will be hard, but it will be all worth it. As time goes on, you can’t imagine your life without the second child as you couldn’t without the first.
I doubt that Bethenny wanted the 1st baby. Having the baby got her what she wanted…MEDIA ATTENTION!!! She’s not meant to be a Mother, and has no maternal instinct whatsoever. Bethenny is blank.
About her comments on Danielle…I doubt that she would want competition, so why would she be happy to see Danielle get a show, whether she likes her or not? If they gave a skank like Bethenny a show, go ahead and give Danielle one. BRAVO might as well.

Jason is a great guy and Bethenny is so lucky that Jason tolerates her on a daily basis, i know i would be tired of her stark comments all day long. I would give the man what he wants, have more children now, your 40 years old he childbearing time is over in about 4 minutes so she better get on it. she’s obviously selfish and we shall see were Jason is in 3 years. As for slammin’ Danielle she is a whack job. but don’t knock her cause she trying to stay in the limelight. kinda something your trying to do Bethenny….get over yourself.
I wonder if Bethenny was told by her doctor not to have another baby, and she is presenting it as her choice, so people are not all up in her business about her health problems? That was the only thing left out of BGM …. was Bethenny’s blood clot, which caused her to be on bed rest for some time. I disagree with people who think Bethenny owes Jason a second child, she’s the one that has to carry the baby to term. She’s a woman, not an incubator. If Jason wanted multiple kids, he could have easily married a younger woman or someone willing to go through IVF to have lots of kids.
Anyway, not surprised B is shilling for drugstore.com .. she was tweeting recently about how she was “obsessed” with them.

I don’t know about that, she stated several times that she only wanted one child and was really hoping for a girl. I think if there were any real health concerns regarding her having another child,she would say it. I really believe she just wants the one. I think Jason thinks or hopes he can change her mind,and it’s just not happening.
Just my opinion.
Easy answer: get rid of that dam dog — babies are easier! (and last longer than dogs)
