Bethenny Frankel Makes Rare Comments About Co-Parenting With Ex Jason Hoppy

Bethenny Frankel is sharing her thoughts about co-parenting. The former Real Housewives of New York star gave some rare insight into her parenting dynamic with ex-husband Jason Hoppy. The pair share their 16-year-old daughter, Bryn Hoppy. Bethenny is hoping to give Bryn a bigger community.

The former RHONY star reflected on how her relationship with her ex has changed

Bethenny appeared on the Aspire podcast and talked about her relationship with her daughter and how she wants to build Bryn a bigger community.

“I want to be in a successful relationship for myself and for my daughter because we’re rolling very light and it comes up during holidays,” Bethenny admitted (at the 59:23 mark). “It comes up just in different ways with our unit.”

Bethenny is currently dating financial advisor Shane Campbell. So maybe she’s closer to a family unit than she thinks. For now, Bethenny added that there are a lot of “personal things” happening with Bryn’s “family dynamic” now. Because of this, Bethenny wants to build a bigger community for her teen daughter.

“I want a unit, I want a family,” she admitted. “I want to be part of a team, and I want to work for sure because I believe in the power of purpose and in being connected to something.” She wants to continue to connect with an audience as she has always done.

Bethenny and Jason married in 2010 and split in 2012. They previously had a contentious custody battle for their daughter. But they reached a custody settlement in 2014. They finally finalized their divorce in 2021. Because Bryn lived with Bethenny most of the time, the court did not require Bethenny to pay Jason child support.

In the same year the divorce was finalized, Bethenny and Bryn moved to Florida. It was a move made to support Bryn’s academic and athletic goals. Bethenny told fans she and Bryn were moving for “personal and professional” reasons. She’s described it as the healthiest move for her family.

As for her and Jason, despite the ups and downs in their relationship, Bethenny strives to “never talk bad” about Jason in front of Bryn. “Just because you’re not saying it in front of the child, it doesn’t mean they don’t feel it,” she said.

The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock.
