Today Bethenny Frankel is firing back and furious at all the recent “lies” about her in the press!
Just to rehash the last few months in Skinnygirl Frankel’s magnum opus of falsehoods; Bethenny (who is also being sued by her ex-manager) got caught in a fib about the ingredientzes in her infamous Skinnygirl Margarita, resulting in it being pulled from Whole Foods shelves, which resulted in some additional “fan” lawsuits.
Then she fibbed about how much money she sold said company for. Well she didn’t lie, per se, she just never actually corrected anyone on the $120M number, when it was actually more like $64M. Still, a good chunk of change for schlock.
Finally, Bethenny has been implicated in a lie involving a “lost at sea” shenanigan where she attempted to manipulate the US COAST GUARD for a reality show! Of course, Bethenny is not to blame for any of this! It is irresponsible journalists spewing venomous lies in an attempt to destroy her. Remember: “Everyone wants to tear down a success!”
Now, on to the latest. If you recall, last week the towboat operator who “rescued” the desultory Team Frankel from their adventures at sea (hosted by her therapist) spoke out after Bethenny dissed him on The Ellen Show, claimed she gave him a $2800 tip for his services (which he denies), and then threatened to have sex with him as a thank you. Classy.
Tim Russell, the towboat operator, who rightfully felt offended that Bethenny would jeopardize his business for her own personal gain, explained his version of the events, which dispute nearly all of her accounts. Now I am one for believing there are three versions of every story, but it might be worth mentioning THE US COAST GUARD supports a portion of his recollection, specifically the statement that it was him that aided the group and not the Coast Guard, despite receiving a delusional phone call from someone on Frankel’s boat requesting unnecessary assistance.
And if you remember when Bethenny originally “broke” the story to her fans via Twitter she stated she was lost at sea for hours and RESCUED by the US Coast Guard. Do these Tweets still exist? Indeed they do, for Reality Tea has a screen shot!
Bethenny recently told US Weekly: “My entire brand is based on that [honesty]. I felt like I had a responsibility to my fans to say something,” in response to all the allegations. Perhaps all that saying something is what is getting Bethenny in more and more trouble!
Well yesterday, Bethenny made an appearance on the Today show with poor Matt Lauer where she ranted about people wanting tear her down and gave her opinion on all the lies being told about her. “There are certain people and certain bloggers…they want something to be wrong,” she seethed. “They want it to be that I lie or cheat or I must have done if I can have this success.”
Finally Bethenny confronts lost at sea-gate and she feels the situation was very real and very dangerous. “My sound guy doesn’t know how to swim,” Bethenny explained. “They lost a lot of the tapes because of salt damage…” she also insists some camera batteries were dead. Oh no, a casualty! #getoveryourself.
Granted, a person who does not know how to swim is definitely dangerous on a boat, but does it warrant Coast Guard intervention? Apparently no, because now Bethenny is claiming they were never involved!!
“The towboat man who accused me of lying has been put on a gag order because what he’s effectively saying is that we called the Coast Guard. It’s like calling 911 without an emergency. I’d be in jail probably.” WAIT. HOLD UP – REWIND. Seriously – read that again and then go back and look at the facts.
Bethenny, HERSELF, stated that the coastguard rescued them. The Coast Guard confirms they were called and declined to assist, stating their boat was not in danger. The towboat operator only said just that – the coastguard suggested they call a tow company, which they did, and he helped lead them back to shore. For verification, see the original Tweets below. Perhaps Bethenny is upset that he outed her on making up a story about the GPS being broken because they were essentially trying to manipulate a plot for Bethenny Ever After?
In fact, even Bravo confirms Bethenny’s boat called the Coast Guard, releasing this statement: “The Coast Guard referred a private tow vessel who eventually led their boat out. When people see the episode, they will certainly see for themselves that this was very real.” Whose version of “real”: theirs or mine?
Now Bethenny is blaming Tim Russell for her “mis-rememberings” by issuing a very transparent and pathetic gag order – what is she trying to prevent him from releasing? The truth?
Bethenny went on to bash “irresponsible bloggers” some more and says her outrage is all for her fans, calling the accusations of lies, “all a bunch of nonsense.”
“You have to spend 24 hours of your life defending your honesty to your fans. [These stories are] irresponsible journalism and … a waste of your time,” she lamented to US Weekly over questions about the legitimacy of her stories.
All of this begs to ask the question – Who is crazier: Bethenny or Kelly Bensimon? Because Scary Island is starting seem a little different after learning the lies Bethenny is apparently capable of telling, despite public records disputing them, and most disturbingly that she doesn’t seem to remember the original lies she told!
Maybe she should eat something and put the cocktails down…
SO WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE? IS IT HYPOCRITICAL OF BETHENNY TO SHUT TIM UP? IS BETHENNY TELLING THE TRUTH OR NOT?
The reason I surmised that Mr. Russell may have signed a release is because that is what these shows usually do, in order, to show a person’s image on screen. That’s why sometimes they blur people out of shots…but again I was only guessing.

I just watched the interview with Bethenny and Matt and Bethenny kept saying, “None of this matters”.
Then WHY is she going around “defending” herself If itdoesn’t matter (she says just family and health matters) why doesn’t she just let the stories run its course?
One thing I noticed in the interview (perhaps another lie?) is that when Matt asked her about kissing the ground after the camera crew got out and filmed her doing it, Bethenny said that the camera crew was filiming for hours (constantly) before she kissed the ground. This was AFTER Bethenny insisted that the camera batteries were “lost” (dead?).
So, little miss “i am soooo honest”, which is it? Did the cameras die or not?
I think she is realizing her “fans” are leaving her in herds (even Lynn n chicago took a dig at Bethenny the othe day).

Let me break it down. Betheney was out with bravo crew and family and ran into trouble on the boat. NO GPS, which is essential in navigating (so you dont run aground and you arrive safely) They called the coast guard and since they were not in imminent danger coast guard told them to call a sea tow captain. How was betheny suposed to know it wasnt the coast guard? She’s not a saior. Leave her alone, none of my friends would know the difference out on the water. Ok, so Captain popeye did not just come to her rescue he was hired and paid. Also it wasnt her boat so it was not Bethenys responsibility to tip the man. Trust me those people make a lot of money for a seatow he was paid, he was thanked and he should have been a gentleman and just shut up. Instead what happened was after he found out she was rich he was pissed that she did not give him money above and beyond what he was paid. Now the captains a fool because he is hurting his business by trashing customers. If he had assisted any other boater that day and they paid their bill there would be no fanfare. This clown is looking for his 15 minutes and you all are giving it to him. He should be ashamed of himself that he is whining like a baby. Bethenny should have had a gag order on him a month ago. @156 157, yup the other night (sunday on the “lets chat RHNJ reunion” post) Lynn said that she did not like that Bethenny said that she will pay more than $8m in taxes. I guess even Lynn thought that was gauche.
And today, Lynn posted a pic of Bethenny in shiny shorts and commented that she didn’t like them.
Bethenny’s fan base is starting to run, I guess Karma is happening quicker than I thought for Bethenny.
BTW, why is Bethenny stuck in the 90s? On the Today show she said AGAIN, “Mo money Mo problems”. Enough with the dead rapper quotes.

And Sailor Berry she DID call the coast guard and the therapist READ the coordinates from the GPS to the coast guard who were able to confirm based upon those coordinate adn their tracking system that waters were clear and there was no imminent danger. Tim Russell also claims to have gotten the GPS coordinates from the therapist.
Trust me, the CG isn’t going to lie to cover BS Frankel’s tracks!
@158 was part of the problem also that she told an audience she tipped him largely when she did not? And they should get paid whatever the cost for their service: it costs alot to feul a boat that far & back, it takes their time, it takes their crew, sometimes their safety is risked. So their fee should not be the same cost as the curly fries Beth claims she’d rather be eating at the mall (as opposed to the events we all know she loves -with all the cameras). They work hard for their money too & even though she already makes a lot, she wants to be compensated.
If he gets bombarded by the crew at the end and has to sign her stuff & is used (another pattern) why should he not get more than a normal fee? But he did not right? Didn’t she
She screwed-up & continues to only blame others. She does not care who she’s stepping-on. IMO, she’s always been that way.

I enjoy reality tv as do most of the posters on this site REALITY TEA. “Water Cooler” talk now takes place on Computers. Some are fans of a show and others aren’t. If nobody talked about a show it wouldn’t still be on the air. Do you expect everyone to like Bethenny? I personally can’t stand her show because I find her to be very condescending, ungrateful of her husbands love and phoney. The last straw was when she made it harder for Jason’s parents to spend time with Brynn. They are great people that make excellent grandparents. They lost one son and only have Jason. Family is everything to them, but seemingly it only goes one way with Bethenny. She has caused them great pain by her actions and that’s when I decided to tune her out. Not jealous of her. Pity is the word. She always cries about what she doesn’t have. Don’t begrudge her for her financial success. Applaud her for that. Your attacks on her critics is amusing and your insinuations that we only spend time attacking people while hiding behind our computer screens. What are you doing? Attacking people? She put her life out there and because she has, she has become a multimillionaire. The show made her. I have to agree with the people who said that Bethenny is not a sailor and didn’t own the boat. I don’t think it’s far fetched to think that she was assuming it was the coast guard etc. Also, didn’t she say on Ellen that her therapist paid the tow guy? Why are people getting obsessed over every word she says? So she’s claiming she’s honest, who cares?
And what else would the tow guy have to say after he shared his side of the story? Anything beyond that smells of him trying to cash in on the story.
