During Bethenny’s time on Real Housewives of New York, viewers have seen how the ongoing bitterness with Jason has affected the Skinnygirl maven. It never seems to end, since they share custody of now 8-year-old Bryn….and Bethenny is back in court requesting sole custody.
The Real Housewives of New York City’sresident razor-tongued go-getter, Bethenny Frankelopened up this week about the never-ending saga of her tempestuous pending divorce toJason Hoppy. The ‘skinny gal’ reveals how she is pretty content with her life as is, despite the occasional bricks that are flung her way. In her usual matter-of-fact way of seeing things, Bethenny states, “Life is roses, it’s got petals and it’s got thorns,” and that through it all, she still manages to get out of bed each morning with a purpose.
The gritty multimillionaire reality star discussed how her divorce has been such a toxic experience for her, she likened it to “a drop of poison in the ocean.” Bethenny went on to explain her uncompromisingly direct statement. “Am I feeling it? No. But it’s there. I mean, it doesn’t weigh down on me every minute of the day, it’ll flair up sometimes, like when people have arthritis or something, but it’s there. It’s chronic. It’s not that emotionally draining, it does come up at times; you have to really just be very zen about it. You have to just say, ‘This is all supposed to be happening, it makes me stronger.”
Not so fast! Just when we thought things we getting down right amicable between Bethenny Frankel and her soon-to-be ex-husband Jason Hoppy, the feuding twosome come to blows once again.
This time it is not over custody of their daughter Bryn, but instead it is over Bethenny’s millions. The former Real Housewives of New York star was spotted leaving a Manhattan Supreme Court, where she is apparently still fighting with Hoppy because she does not want to split her reported $55 million fortune.
Oh Bethenny Frankel, whatever are we going to do with you? After deciding Jason Hoppy wasn't the husband she wanted or needed, the former reality star turned talk show host says she's nowhere near ready to date again, although that conflicts with rumors that she's been seeing Warren Lichtenstein. I won't mention that just last month she let it slip that she's seeing someone. Oops! I guess I just did!
Bethenny admits that she has no desire to be part of a couple again. She blames her attitude towards a relationship on the fact that going through this divorce is much harder than she'd ever anticipated. She also manages to throw shade at her soon-to-be-ex-husband. It's like Groundhog's Day around here, isn't it?
Bethenny Frankel is upping the ante as far as guests on her talk show goes. She's graduated from her recent parade of Bravolebrities to the one woman who we have to thank for putting her on the air–Ellen DeGeneres. "Thank" may not be the word you would use, but as far as I'm concerned, Ellen can do no wrong. And who knows, maybe this is just another lesson in random acts of kindness courtesy of Ellen.
When Ellen appeared via satellite (is that what they still call it?) on bethenny yesterday, Bethenny introduced her by saying, "I am so excited and honored to tell you who my first guest is today. It's a woman who I trust, who I admire, who I love, who I respect. She's the most talented women on the planet in my book and she's the reason that I have a show today. I am so grateful to her, for this opportunity. Please welcome my friend and mentor Ellen DeGeneres."
Quick question…will Bethenny Frankel ever learn? Sometimes I want to think she wants to do the right thing. Heck, sometimes I even think she's more vulnerable than I'd ever want to give her credit for being. Of course, then she goes and does something like this.
It seems that Bethennyis more concerned with standing her ground (which, in real terms, means getting her way), and now she andJason Hoppy are headed to court. So much for that amicable divorce she kept touting, right? Unable to reach an agreement (read: Bethenny wouldn't budge on her extreme demands), sources are reporting that the once semi-happy couple's divorce is becoming more and more contentious…if that was even possible!
According to Radar Online, Bethenny and Jason are likely headed to trial. An insider shares that the pair went before a judge last Friday in New York, revealing, "Bethenny is still seeking sole physical custody of Bryn, whereas Jason wants joint custody. The judge indicated it would be in Bethenny’s best interests if she were to sign off on an agreement, instead of rolling the dice at trial. She didn’t deal.”
Page Six is reporting that there is some major discord surrounding the talk show which is helmed by the reality star turned mogul…and Bethenny's attitude is to blame. Sources close to the show tell the site that Bethenny is "very particular and difficult," and it's already turning off some of her employees.
I could be wrong, but I'm going to venture a guess that any celebrity couple who finds themselves facing divorce is just jinxing the situation if they claim to be "amicable." Case in point? Reality star Bethenny Frankel and Bethenny Ever After prop (and Bethenny's soon-to-be-ex-husband) Jason Hoppy.
Since the pair announced their uncontested and friendly split, the duo has been anything but. Friends of the pair are playing quite the game of he said/she said in the tabloids, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Now, new court documents are apparently alleging even uglier undertones…but can we believe it?
