With just three weeks until the premiere of The Bachelor season 16, ABC has released the photos of the 25 contestants vying for Ben Flajnik’s heart!
On the season opener, Ben, 29, a winemaker from Sonoma, meets his 25 potential soul mates as he begins his search for “true love.” And in a twist, Ben is taken aback on the first night when Sheryl, a sprite senior citizen, steps out of the limo and confesses she is madly in love with him. But according to the rumor mill, it appears Sheryl was simply there to introduce her granddaughter to Ben.
The ABC press release promises us some more interesting characters such as: “Erika, the young law student, informs Ben that the verdict is in and he is convicted of being sexy. Emily, the germ conscious epidemiologist, doesn’t miss a beat, quickly sanitizing both herself and Ben before grabbing the season’s first kiss. And in a questionable move, Anna decides that Ben should only get a look at her before she struts right by him and straight into the mansion. But what is her real motive? Lindzi arrives on horseback in time to intrigue Ben and capture his attention. And finally, Jenna, a New York blogger, breaking down into tears over early drama with fellow bachelorette Monica.”
The new season of The Bachelor returns to ABC on Jan. 2 (8/7c).

Calling all nurses!!! How many RNs are on this show? Not very pretty girls- nicki sterling looks better than the rest. Not sure i’ll even Tivo the bachelor this season.
Ugh. This doesn’t even look DVR worthy. I think I’d record Baseball Wives over this! Just all manufactured romance. Haven’t watched the show since it’s early seasons.
Never watch it, never will. More staged “reality”? No thanks!

They all look exactly the same to me! So generic! Were they all instructed to wear shiny tops and skinny jeans? This photoshoot doesn’t really do the girls any favors…. Am I being too harsh?
Not a particularly attractive group of girls, not ugly mind you. They must have lowered the bar a bit knowing the bachelor is no prize himself. Sure they have nice personalities. Zero interest to watch the show, will just read about it here and save the frustration.
Um… can I just say Ben likes unattractive women. First Ashley, now this crop. Now before people start snarking on what I look like – the answer is I’m not trying to be on a TV show where 50% of the plot point is how attractive I’m supposed to be.
Anyways, my consensus is yuck to 3/4 of the “beauties.” Definitely a far cry from Brad’s season!

I don’t think the girls look that bad – let’s give them a chance. Probably not as much drama this season as the girl that was asked to leave after being caught with one of the producers – oh yeah he was fired.

Questions: Is Ben Jewish? And all of the girls Jewish? I ask because one of the most annoying things about the Bachelor series is that they dismiss religion when matching up people. Religion is one of the most-important things in our lives and it was clear, in earlier groups, that concept was discarded.
The gals are are lovely and talented with real careers, for the most part.
