Braxton Family Value’s loudest break out star Tamar Braxton is dishing it all in a new interview!
While talking to ESSENCE.com, Tamar opens up about what we can expect from her new spinoff show with hubby Vince Herbert and Vince’s health scare. Below are excerpts from Tamar’s interview:
TAMAR BRAXTON: It was the fans of “Braxton Family Values” who demanded it. I kept hearing people say, ‘You should have your own show.’ They wanted to know what was behind the dot com’s and where I get all this energy from. I just thought it would be a great for them to see that there is another side. The Tamar on “Braxton Family Values” is real, but that’s me in the sister role. I do have another side: Tamar, the wife. I’m still animated, but in a different kind of way.
ESSENCE.com: How is Vince doing after suffering a pulmonary embolism in November?
BRAXTON: We just got home after three months in New York because he was sick. He’s now walking, he’s not in a wheelchair. We’re grateful. He’s probably the healthiest he’s ever been. He had a pulmonary embolism along with a lung attack – which is like the heart attack of the lungs. We’ve changed our lives. He exercises, he eats right. There are no longer sodas in our house. It’s been a lot for us to go through.
ESSENCE.com: So besides getting to meet Tamar, the wife, what else will we see on “Tamar & Vince”?
BRAXTON: You’ll get to see that Tamar has a brain, and I’m a businesswoman. There are a lot of business ventures that I’m working on right now that I’m really excited about.
Meanwhile, Tamar and Vince grace the latest cover of JET magazine during which Vince shut down any claims that his wife is a gold-digger.
“I love my wife. This girl is so far from being a gold digger. I wouldn’t be with someone like that for nine years,” says Vince with Tamar adding: “When I met Vince I had my own house. I had my own car. I was independent.”
Vince continues, “We have fun, which is what a relationship is all about. Tamar is the greatest. Like, we’d just drive to Disneyland, then go to the movies and fall asleep. Because we are friends and you can’t stress that enough in a relationship.” Tamar also adds that she puts away her divatude when it comes to Vince: “He’s my husband, and I don’t talk to him the way I’d talk to a girlfriend.”
And congrats are in order for Evelyn Braxton as the Braxton mama is engaged!
A source close to the Braxton family not only confirms the engagement but also tells the Sister 2 Sister blog that Mama Braxton is set to tie the knot this February!
“She will be working out at the gym to be over-the-top fabulous,” said the source, who adds that Evelyn is “excited.” She should be as the mother of six had a bitter divorce with ex-husband Michael Braxton over infidelity issues. There’s no word yet on who Evelyn’s fiance is but a good guess might be the Doc, a.k.a. her new beau on the show.

Finally, following last week’s episode which had Tamar displaying her over-the-top attitude… yet again, some are now wondering if Tamar needs to tone it down a notch.org.
Tamar blew a fuse last week when sister Towanda revealed she had to leave their rehearsals to be there for her son on his first day of school. Tamar not only got upset but also refused to perform unless she received an apology. In addition, she also got into it with the Braxton voice coach. So we have to ask: Is it time for Tamar to tone down her attitude?
