LeAnn Rimes Twitter Lawsuit Gets Even Stranger…

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to manipulate the media over a random Twitter war lawsuit.  I never thought I'd write those words.  Of course, I never thought that LeAnn Rimes would become such an attention seeker by way of her affair and marriage to Real Housewives of Beverly's star Brandi Glanville's ex-husband.

LeAnn, who recently entered a thirty day treatment center for anxiety, is now embroiled in a lawsuit with a teacher and mother of six due to a Twitter battle between pro-Brandi followers and pro-LeAnn followers.  The singer (former singer?) filed a suit against high school teacher Kim Smiley for invasion of privacy after Kim allegedly recorded a phone conversation between herself and LeAnn regarding Brandi.

LeAnn had Kim served over Labor Day weekend, and oddly enough, there were members of the media with the process server.  I wonder who tipped them off, huh?  Even stranger?  The process server had the wrong person!  You see, Kim's brother is also married to a woman named Kim…so the server and the media were at the home of her sister-in-law!

The Kim actually involved in the law suit tells Radar Online, “My sister-in-law told them they had the wrong Kim and they wouldn’t believe her. They wouldn’t leave her alone. I heard the process server was banging on the door and looking over the fence."

Kim continues, “They were having a party and my sister-in-law was so upset she took her kids and ran to the clubhouse (in the development where they live). My brother  was playing golf. He came back and he was angry. He told them not to show up ever again. My sister-in-law had told them it was the wrong Kim but they wouldn’t believe her.”

It turns out that the correct Kim's home is over an hour from her sister-in-law's.  So how did the media end up with the process server?  Kim explains, “The media called my sister-in-law’s house in advance, saying they were going to show up. That’s what I was told. When my sister-in-law told them they had the wrong Kim they just kept going. They thought she was lying. They didn’t believe her.”

Something seems super fishy about this entire situation, don't you think?  Another source admits, “If this was a public relations stunt, it was a bad one. And it sure went wrong for LeAnn.”

Of course, Kim isn't going to take this lying down, and she's considering her own legal action.  The National Ledger reports that Kim is confused by LeAnn's law suit.

Kim says, ''I plan to take my own action against her. This could impact my family and business. Somebody needs to stand up or LeAnn will continue doing this for the rest of her life."

She adds, ''I have a right to my opinion. I have never bullied her. She blocked me on Twitter and then I took my account private, so how can I bully her if I'm blocked and have a private account? It makes no sense. People who don't like her have a right to their opinion. She's a public figure. But I have never bullied her. One of her people said I was sending derogatory tweets to her for years. That's false.''  Of course, people always do get a lot bolder when they are can hide behind their computer screens.

Kim describes the phone call she received from LeAnn, saying, ''She called me. She was trying to berate me into liking her. When she didn't get her way she got frustrated…She called me 'incredibly f***ing rude.' She was really mad. I guess she is used to people bowing down to her but I'm not that kind of person. She's not used to people standing their ground."

She further alleges that LeAnn began the phone call by saying, ''Hey bitch, it's LeAnn. You have five f***ing minutes to say whatever you want to me.''

LeAnn's camp claims that it was actually Kim who ''insulted, taunted and provoked Ms. Rimes'' during this random phone call, as accusation Kim calls a "complete lie."

Um, so why is LeAnn calling random people who don't like her?  And are there actually people who get so caught up in Twittering to "celebrities" they don't like that they end up the subject of law suits?
