We won't be seeing Matt Barnes on this season of Basketball Wives: L.A., but it isn't because the he and Gloria Govan are on the outs with one another.  On the first season the couple certainly had their share of highs and lows, eventually calling off their engagement when they couldn't work out their differences.

Isn't it amazing what eight short months can do?  Gloria and Matt have reunited…although she claims to have learned a lot about herself in their time apart.  This time she'll be facing the craziness of the sophomore season without her man.

Gloria explains that she and Matt were tired of having their relationship under public scrutiny.  She believes the pressure of the cameras added additional stress to their already tense situation.  Gloria tells the Examiner that she doesn't need any judgment from fans regarding her home life.  Matt, too, enjoys being out of the VH1 limelight.  He claims to have felt like his engagement to Gloria was under a microscope.

Of course, Matt and Gloria's relationship was the focal point of Gloria's story line last season.  Will she be as interesting highlighting her career?  Regardless, it is nice to see a couple who is forgoing the cameras to work on their family.  However, I'll be curious to see how Gloria will fare sans Matt this season.  I wonder if he'll be back in the event of a season three.

I may be getting ahead of myself though…or maybe not.  The same site reports that the ratings for the second season premiere were almost as high as those for the first, with more than 1.8 million viewers tuning in to watch.  With all the drama revolving around Jackie Christie at the end of the first season, it made for a fabulous cliffhanger.  The drama doesn't look like it's going to lessen this time around either.  These women love to fight!

TELL US-DO YOU THINK GLORIA WILL HAVE MUCH OF A STORY LINE WITHOUT MATT?
