Did Paul Nassif Accept A Custody Agreement So Negative Information About Him Wouldn’t Go Public?

Let's all breathe a big sigh of relief. We learned yesterday that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Adrienne Maloof and her soon to be ex-husband Paul Nassif have finally reached a custody agreement for their three sons, and now we know why.  I can't believe it either.  We have one less housewives drama to worry about now!  It's like Christmas!

The couple have been going back and forth, slinging around accusations of abuse and emergency orders left and right.  Finally, it seems that sanity has won, and they are prepared to move forward with the best interests of their children in mind.  What a novel idea!

Radar Online is reporting that Paul didn't want any negative information to be made public during a hearing.  A source tells the site, "There were a lot of depositions that took place in the past two weeks in connection with Adrienne and Paul's custody fight over their three sons. It became clear to Paul that if this information were to be made public during a restraining order hearing this week it would be very, very bad for his image. The damaging info included Paul's parenting skills and his temper."

The same insider continues, "Paul does have anger management issues, and has been advised to work with a mental health professional to deal with it. The child custody evaluation also concluded that Adrienne was just a better parent, and was more involved in the boys lives. Adrienne is their mother, and will do whatever it takes to protect the boys."

The hearing for the permanent restraining order is still scheduled for today, but maybe this will mark a more cooperative effort of the couple going forward.  Someone close to the pair shares, "The restraining order hearing is still on the docket for October 9 and will likely proceed with Adrienne only seeking for it to be only for her and won't include the boys as it initially had. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new phase for the better in Paul and Adrienne's divorce proceedings. There is a lot of anger between the pair, but they are now recognizing that all of this fighting is only making it harder for their kids and making their lawyers very rich."

The agreement was made last week after a day-long mediation.  A source explains, "Adrienne and Paul and their respective lawyers met all day on Friday with a mediator and they were able to come to a custody agreement of their three sons. Paul had been requesting 50/50 custody, but he didn't get those terms. The boys will be with Adrienne a majority of the time, with Paul being granted visitation. There are layers of protection in the agreement to ensure the boys are in a safe environment."

According to TMZ, the agreement is only applicable for ninety days, at which point they will revisit the situation and implement a permanent plan.

Ironically, the same site asked Adrienne what she thought of Chris Brown and Rihanna getting back together.  Given that Chris abused Rihanna, and Adrienne is accusing Paul of abuse, you'd think she wouldn't be onboard with the singers' reconciliation.  However, she tells TMZ, "I love Chris Brown, he's very talented. My children love his music. He's awesome."  Perhaps she should have thought through that answer a little more thoroughly…

It's such a shame all the madness that seems to surround this franchise.  Maybe people really can conceal their true personalities with cameras around all the time.  I would have never pegged  Paul for anything other than the happy-go-lucky man who seemed so kind to his wife and her friends.  I sincerely hope that if there is some truth to these sources he gets the help that he needs.

TELL US-ARE YOU GLAD THAT PAUL AND ADRIENNE HAVE FINALLY REACHED AN AGREEMENT?
