Jason Hoppy & Bethenny Frankel

Rut roh.  Bethenny Ever After's fairy tale seems to be unraveling daily as Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy face off in what was once supposed to be a quick and civil divorce…as if any of us actually believed that claim!  They are at least taking a break from battling over Bryn to focus on brawling over the family's uber-expensive and enormous apartment.

It seems that Bethenny is hoppying mad about recent rumors that Jason not only wants the apartment, but he can't wait to demolish her happy place…her walk-in closet.  If that isn't bad enough, Jason's plans for the closet space are enough to make the tough diva in Bethenny faint with dispair.  This may be one of the funniest reality news items of the week!

According to Radar Online, Jason is fighting to get the couple's swanky TriBeCa apartment.  Even more frightful to Bethenny?  He has major plans to turn her gigantic closet (rumored to be much larger than many Manhattan studio apartments) into the manliest of man caves.

A source tells the site, “Jason thinks the closet is just ridiculous and it doesn’t fit well into the overall floorplan of the apartment. When they were still together Jason once accused Bethenny of loving the closet more than him. She is obsessed with material objects and her personal relationships have often suffered because of it. Jason has vowed to immediately tear down that damn closet and turn it into a man cave if he is given the apartment as part of the divorce settlement."

The insider continues, “Right now, Jason doesn’t have a single space in the apartment that is his. Bethenny has her SkinnyGirl offices set up there and she spends a great deal of time in her beloved closet. She calls it her perfect hideaway where she can spend hours at a time staring at her racks and racks of designer handbags and shoes.”

I wonder if Bethenny's love for the closet is even more incentive for him to want to destroy it completely.  The former Real Housewives of New York star previously told Traditional Homes magazine, “I wanted a closet like this my whole life, and finally, I don’t have to shove things under the bed."

One thing is for sure…Jason isn't going to give up the apartment without a fight.  Another source close to the situation shares, “Jason dealt with all of the contractors and was responsible for the extensive renovations that were done before they finally moved in last year.  He isn’t just going to walk away from that apartment.”  That's going to be one helluva man cave, I bet!
