Basketball Wives: LA’s Laura Govan Slapped With Lawsuit! Malaysia Pargo Won’t Play Peacemaker This Season!

Well, it's a good thing that Laura Govan isn't returning to Basketball Wives: L.A. because breaking the law doesn't make for a good story line! Oh wait, this is VH1, so yes, yes, it probably does! Laura was just slapped with a lawsuit which alleges she violated federal law. That's never good!

Meanwhile her former cast mate Malaysia Pargo is dishing on the upcoming season…and comparing it to Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Honey, no! I guess it's time for us to board the Stevie J. bus and buckle up for a very bumpy ride!

Radar Online is reporting that one time BBW: LA fixture was served with a lawsuit back in November by G & G Closed Circuit Events. The company claims that Laura's bar, Kimball's Carnival, made money off a boxing match it broadcast unlawfully.

The complaint alleges, “On December 1, 2012, Defendant Laura Sylvia Mendoza Govan, or by specifically directed the employees of Kimball’s Carnival to unlawfully intercepted and broadcast Plaintiff’s Program at Kimball’s Carnival,” adding, “The actions of the employees of Kimball’s Carnival are directly imputable to Defendant by virtue of ownership of Kimball’s Carnival.”

G & G, which calls itself a “commercial distributor and licensor of sporting events,” is seeking a $170,000 judgment and attorneys' fees claiming that Laura and her bar violated federal law and harmed its business by not paying the proper licensing fee for the match and then airing it to patrons. Perhaps Laura should have stayed on the show to have some extra cash in the event she's slapped with the judgment!

Meanwhile, on VH1, Malaysia touts herself as a sweet loving mother and wife who likes to have fun and run her businesses. She compares her franchise to the Miami women by saying that with L.A., you get to see new dynamics as women are shuffled in each season through a revolving door (okay, so maybe she didn't quite word it that way!), while in Miami you see the same old relationships grow and change each season. Malaysia promises to mind her own business this season and stop trying to always play peacemaker. She notes that it didn't work out so well for her in seasons past. Likening the show to L&HH: ATL minus Stevie J, Malaysia promises, “There’s always something in every corner. There’s never a dull moment in this season.”
