Giuliana and Bill Rancic have finally had their dream come true. The couple welcomed a baby boy via surrogate into the world late Wednesday evening.
""The 'Duke' has landed. Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!," Bill ecstatically tweeted.
"Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives," Giuliana told E! News. "Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!"
The E! News anchor and her Apprentice winning husband have certainly been through a lot this past year, so I am thrilled that Giuliana and Bill Rancic have some exciting news to share. After discovering she had breast cancer while undergoing fertility treatments, the couple didn’t give up on their dream to have a child. The pair announced in April that they were expecting a baby via gestational surrogate. Reality TV reports that their upcoming bundle of joy will be a boy!
“We are beyond excited to be having a little boy,” Bill says “We are so ready for everything that comes with being a new mom and dad!”
His wife agrees, citing, “This truly is a miracle baby.”
Giuliana Rancic has been bravely battling cancer in the public eye and the reality star has openly and honestly let fans share her journey. Tonight marks the premiere of Giuliana & Bill. This season the couple will give us a glimpse into their harrowing experience dealing with Giuliana’s diagnosis, all while still struggling to achieve their goal of having a child.
Speaking about the dramatic season and the events that took place during filming, Giuliana admits it’s been a struggle to accept her new body following a double mastectomy to remove cancerous tissue from her breasts. Months after the operation, Giuliana confesses she still felt self-conscious on camera.
“I’d be about to interview someone and I’d notice they’d see my pulling up the dress and [wonder] if they were looking at my boobs,” Giuliana shares. “It went from ‘I think I’m showing too much cleavage’ to ‘Cover these damn things up.’”
“I felt like my body let me down,” she tells Us Weekly.
And yesterday on the TODAY show, Giuliana, appearing along with husband Bill Rancic, gave fans an update on her health and her quest to become a mother. “I won’t be needing chemotherapy,” she reveals, but she is taking an oral medication that will continue to make getting pregnant difficult.
In light of the diagnosis and Giuliana’s continued treatment, the couple is considering adoption and surrogacy to achieve their goal of becoming parents. “We’re definitely having to explore other options… We absolutely want a child,” she explained.
“Whether you have a baby naturally, through adoption, through surrogacy, it’s your baby. You’re going to love that baby and that’s all that matters,” Giuliana added.
Giuliana and Bill are very much supportive of each other and this experience has strengthened their marriage. “It helped us find the humor in everything because when you go through something this tough, you have to, at some point, laugh, and get back to your normal life…,” Giuliana revealed of their incredible relationship. “It has reinvigorated our relationship and we’re closer than ever.” Bill agreed, “It makes the little things seem not so important.”
Finally, tonight Giuliana and Bill return for their fifth season and the couple allows us a first-hand glimpse into the moment that changed both their lives. A preview of the season premiere is below.

When E! and Style Network star Giuliana Rancicrevealed in October that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, people all over rallied to show their support for the star that has shared so much of her life with her fan base. The cancer was discovered when she and her Apprentice winning husband Bill Rancic were preparing for yet another round of IVF to start their family. The couple’s struggles with infertility have been chronicled on their show Giuliana and Bill.
After undergoing a double lumpectomy, a recovering Giuliana sat down with Parade Magazine for an interview. She admits, “When I went public, I thought, ‘OK, I guess a couple of people are going to talk about this,’ but I couldn’t believe it. The outpouring and the love and support was just beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I really relied on a lot of those messages I was receiving through Twitter and email and through blogs right before the surgery and the week I was recovering.”
The inspirational star continues, “I know it sounds so cliché, but I think it helped me recover quicker and it got me in better spirits. The word I kept seeing over and over again was ‘strong.’ ‘Be strong, you’re strong.’ That word has never meant so much to me as it has this past month. I owe that all to the people behind me.”
While her surgery was rough, Giuliana gains strength from her family, friends and fans. She says, “I’m good. I’m hanging in there. I have good days and bad days, but so far so good. I’m very optimistic and I’m just happy to have caught it early. I think that’s really the most important thing. Early detection means so much. I want women to make sure they’re taking care of their health and being proactive.”
Of co-worker Ryan Seacrest, Giuliana gushes, “He’s great. I describe our relationships as like a brother-sister relationship. We pick on each other, he probably picks on me much more than I pick on him, but it’s like a brother would. We have a great time. He’s been great to work with all these years. I love working with him.”
Giuliana and Bill’s relationship has been showcased on their hit show on Style Network. Fans relate to the couple as they navigate and balance relationship and work issues with equal parts humor, love and sincerity. Giuliana has no regrets about putting their lives in the public eye, stating, “We just felt like with every trial and tribulation we’ve put on this show, people have told us how much they learned from it and how it made them feel less alone. We thought that was a pretty incredible opportunity.”
I must agree that part of what makes the pair so appealing is how honest and genuine they are with their struggles. That notion isn’t lost on Giuliana who continues, “The fact that we can help people through our show is an honor. We’re happy to do it and it’s something that we continue to do. We really are like open books. It’s worth it to kind of sacrifice some of my personal life to help others.”
We here at RT are thrilled to hear that Giuliana is focused on healing quickly, and it’s amazing for her to share her story so that others who are suffering may find comfort. We continue to wish her and Bill all the health, happiness and blessings life has to offer!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF GIULIANA’S INTERVIEW? WHAT ARE YOUR WELL WISHES FOR THE COUPLE?
We are pleased to report that four days following her shattering announcement that she is battling breast cancer and scheduled to undergo surgery related to the disease, E! News host Giuliana Rancic is out of surgery and recovering!
Bill Rancic told the Today show his wife is “doing well” following the surgery and the couple views the shocking discovery as a blessing! “We’re viewing this as a gift; it was caught accidentally very, very early,” Bill said, focusing on the positives.
Giuliana, 37, underwent surgery for a double lumpectomy to remove cancerous tissue from the breasts. The surgery lasted about two hours and was without complications. “She’s a trooper. She pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out,” Bill explained. “She’s doing well at home and recovering.”
“I wish I could take some of the pain away,” he sympathized. “Watching her being wheeled into that operating room was heartbreaking for me. I’m just doing everything I can to support her and make sure that she’s comfortable.” Awww… what a wonderful husband.
Bill also emphasizes that the couple will continue their quest to become parents despite the diagnosis. Giuliana said earlier this week after discovering the cancer while prepping for a third round of IVF: “That baby will have saved my life. There’s some master plan. Now I know that [God] was looking out for me.”
And following Giuliana’s announcement earlier this week, a number of reality stars tweeted their support. Below are some of those tweets -

PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR THE RANCICS – LEAVE YOURS BELOW!
Giuliana Rancic, star of Style network’s Giuliana & Bill, is revealing for the first time that she suffered a recent miscarriage.
In the latest issue of PEOPLE magazine, the E! news reporter, who has been open about undergoing IVF treatments to try to start a family this spring, reveals that after getting pregnant on her first try with in vitro fertilization, she had a miscarriage at nine weeks.
“Both of us were in shock,” Giuliana’s husband, Bill Rancic, 39, tells PEOPLE. “Failure wasn’t an option!”
Giuliana, 36, adds that she was crushed by the news. “I said, ‘I’m not doing this again. I can’t.’ I was angry at life and at God.” The Rancics also share that footage of their happiness upon hearing the pregnancy news, and their shock upon hearing about the miscarriage will be a part of their reality show, which is set to return on Oct. 11.
“Hopefully we can help people understand that there’s nothing to be ashamed of,” says Giuliana. “It’s such a taboo subject, but it’s a very common problem.”
