Briana Renee has been riding a wild roller coaster of pure drama for as long as anyone can remember on Little Women: LA. The self proclaimed “fierce mama” first graced our screens as a quiet, but good hearted single mom navigating life and love in the big city. Since that first season, Briana’s life changed dramatically. So, what happened exactly? Well, Matt happened! After meeting, then marrying, then becoming pregnant by the serial cheater and liar, Matt Ericson (Grundhoffer), Briana became the main source of contention within the LWLA friend group, and with her fans.
But Briana claims things are looking up, both in her marriage and her friendships. She also has some swamp land in Florida she’d like to sell you for a once in a lifetime low price! After a myriad of sexting scandals, Matt’s dubious claims of abuse and sex addiction, and Briana’s ever growing isolation from her family, Briana says she doesn’t have time for the criticism anymore. Instead she’s focused “on my life, building my marriage, and raising my son.” Although, she adds, handling these issues requires a “tougher skin” than she used to have.

Briana shrugged off the past – and her critics – in an interview with Wet Paint, saying, “Things that have happened, happened, and I understood that at the time. And now we’re trying to work through that, but some people can’t get over it.”
Not sure anyone everyone is getting over it though! Especially Briana’s costars on LWLA, namely on-again-off-again frenemy (and LWLA producer), Terra Jole. Of her friendship with Terra, Briana tells viewers to “stay tuned” to see what unfolds in season 5. Perhaps all hope it not lost with them?
Briana says, for her, it’s all about how Terra and the girls approach her with information. She wants to be understood, not attacked for her terrible choices. “I don’t do well with being attacked …. Let’s communicate and understand my perspective,” she defends.
The same philosophy apparently applies to Christy McGinity Gibel, who Briana ruthlessly cut out of her life, as we saw play out on last week’s episode. “You’re dead to me,” said Briana to her former friend, who had unearthed yet more claims of Matt sexting other women (this time a trans model, Plastic Martyr, who will make an appearance on LWLA this season).

As for Briana’s ongoing stonewalling of her immediate family, she states that nothing has changed. And she seems to dig her heels in even deeper each time she is questioned about it. Briana argues that viewers only see “so much on the show” and cannot grasp the full picture of her family dynamics. “There are things that have been said to me — and there are things that have been said to my husband — that, at this point, can’t be taken back,” she says of her family.
Although her parents still take care of Briana’s daughter, Leiana, they are banned from meeting her new son, Maverick. When Briana was experiencing “life or death” complications during her pregnancy with Maverick, she and Matt wouldn’t even let her parents know which hospital she was in and why. Some friends were left guessing too, which caused more skepticism on all parts. Skepticism that viewers have also maintained in growing numbers as we see Briana’s “Ride or Die” tragedy play out on our screens each week.
When you lay down with dogs, as they say, you wake up with fleas. Briana has hitched her wagon to Matt, for good or for bad, yet seems to want the world to overlook his behavior as quickly and delusionally as she does. It remains to be seen whether that will ever happen, though. Until then, she can do as many “I’m GREAT NOW!” interviews as she wants. But in my opinion, the cameras don’t lie – nor does Matt’s phone.
