Now the Little Women: La star got that temporary restraining order extended with the hope of making it a permanent one.
It’s the news Little Women: LA viewers have seen coming for what seems like an eternity: Briana Renee finally filed for divorce from her horrific husband, Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]. Briana also obtained a restraining order against Matt, citing verbal abuse, erratic behavior, and in the most disturbing twist yet, bestiality and pedophilia. Matt has allegedly threatened to kill all of them and/or himself in recent months. This threat is made even more frightening when we remember that Briana brought a gun into their home last season, claiming she needed it for “protection.”
Despite the protestations of her family, friends, and cast mates, Briana clung to her abusive husband through thick and thin – or as she would say, “Ride or Die.” Through his sexting scandals, verbal abuse, serial cheating, and drunken outbursts – Briana made excuses for it all. But now she’s found her limit, and (hopefully) can extricate herself from what can only be described as a toxic relationship.
2017 has been a banner year for the cursed reality TV marriage. It seemed like every time we blinked another reality star filed for divorce!
Some were predictable (ahem Luann de Lesseps and Shannon Beador), while others came as a complete surprise (like Little Women: LA‘s Briana Renee FINALLY kicking sleazy Matt Ericson to the curb or Dr. Jackie Walter‘s husband being caught cheating). And in the middle there were a whole host of other unlucky in love really stars. Including a who a few who actually tied the knot ON TV – only to split in front of the cameras as well.
Below is our rundown of 2017’s reality star divorces. Here’s hoping for many less in 2018!
Hell has frozen over. Pigs are flying. Yes – Briana Renee has finally left her lying, cheating, manipulating husband, Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]. The Little Women: LA cast member and Matt have been married for three years. During this time, Briana’s friends, cast mates, and family have questioned the relationship every step of the way – and for good reason.
Now sources are saying that Briana left Matt last month “because there was no way of resuscitating their three-year marriage.” This news comes, no doubt, as a relief to many. But how long will the separation last?
Another season of Little Women: LA over, another random woman on the reunion couch reliving the details of hooking up with resident sleezeball, Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]. At this point, it’s almost like the rancid cherry on top of each season’s finale – and the grotesque segue into Briana Renee and Matt’s subsequent Lifetime spinoff. As Matt’s Alaska hookup, Stephania, joins Kevin Frazier and the cast to tell “her side of the story,” Briana fights back – and Matt pathetically cries. And – ugh!!! It’s just too much! Haven’t we suffered enough? No more of this totally depressing marriage, please.
Part two picks up with Stephania joining the group. She explains meeting “sad, lonely” Matt after getting off of her shift, then listening to his tale of woe at the bar. Her assessment: His wife was to blame for his troubles, and also for the kiss that happened afterward! Briana apparently came down to the bar to yell at them, which fueled Matt’s fire and justified his reasons for being a
sh*tty tortured husband. Stephania insipidly excuses her own actions, claiming she just wanted to understand this troubled man better! So she pulled him into a no-camera zone (employee workspace), let him kiss her after he walked her home (which he claims to have apologized for), then bid him goodnight. Yeah, right.
After a season of arguments, backstabbing, cheating, and manipulation, Kevin Frazier is here to keep all of the gals of Little Women: LA in check as they assemble for a Season Six Reunion. And he’s definitely the man for the job! This is not his first time holding Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]’s nasty feet to the fire, and he’s no stranger to muzzling Terra Jole with a few stern comments. Essentially, he’s the BOMB. Similar to LWLA Reunions past, Matt’s cheating takes center stage, as does Terra’s
psychotic antics. Thus, the more things change, the more time Matt has to create new d*ck pic galleries they stay the same.
First, let’s examine the seating order: Terra, Tonya Banks, and (shockingly) Christy McGinity Gibel sit on one couch facing Elena Gant, Jasmine Sorge, and Briana Renee (plus one scumbag, intermittently) on the other. This is a notable change from last year, when Christy was Briana’s only remaining ally and Elena was Terra’s staunchest defender. My, my – how times have changed!
It’s only fitting that season six of Little Women: LA ends with a marriage proposal, since there’s so much love in this group. (HA.) But at least it’s a change of pace from the baby boom of 2016. Plus, Tonya Banks’ relationship with Kerwin isn’t nearly as tragically screwed up as Briana Renee’s with Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer] is. So – there’s that, right? (I know, I’m reaching here!) Drama still reigns though, as Terra Jole attempts to makes the ladies’ last event together, an ’80s prom, all about her. But it’s really Elena Gant who steals the show, emerging as the true Wonder Woman of this group when she lays down the law with both Terra and Briana.
At tennis, Jasmine Sorge and Terra hit balls, then sit down to rehash the dinner in which Terra screamed at both Elena and Christy McGinity Gibel. So, what’s Terra going to now? She’s going to deflect by bringing up the Briana/Matt mess, that’s what! Jasmine reiterates that Terra putting Christy’s video on blast ignited a fire, and she can’t keep blaming their problems on the police report. As for Elena, Terra thinks their friendship has changed ever since she competed on Dancing With The Stars. Yeah, it did. But she doesn’t own her part in why it changed. Jasmine suggest an ’80s prom theme party to get the group together, because we all know how well large group events go for this bunch!
In her blog, Terra recounts what went down on that boat in Alaska between Briana Renee and her serial-cheating husband, Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]. And if you can believe it, there was actually more putrid filth coming from Matt’s mouth than even the editing allowed! Terra also lays blame at pretty much every one else’s feet for her own problems. So, business as usual.
