The Jersey Shore cast is proof that all publicity is good publicity, as the strong and loud criticism from lawmakers and Italian groups has only helped propel the show and it’s cast into being very popular. Plus with the very high ratings, the show will certainly be returning for a 2nd season.
The entire cast of Jersey Shore spent some time in Los Angeles recently, and paid a visit to the Chelsea Lately show during their LA stay. Though Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino clashed on last week’s episode of the shore when he made fun of her “rolls,” the two seem to have now kissed and made up, literally. As previews for tonight’s finale episode show the two hooking up in a hot-tub.
It seems their new found “friendship” might have continued post show when on E!’s Chelsea Lately, host Chelsea Handler asked Snooki and The Situation if they’ve hooked up. “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he replied. But it’s not a big deal according to Snooki. “It’s not awkward at all,” she said. “If I wanna make out with him right now, I can. It’s not weird.”
The Situation also clarified what “hooking up” means. “On the show, it’s just a kiss,” he said. “But sometimes, on the road, it’s a little more than that. We save the special stuff for on the road,” he jokingly said. When asked if he’s gotten luckier with the ladies since appearing on the show, he smiled. “I like to think [I was popular with women] before the show,” he said. “But after the show, it’s been a Situation.”
The cast also hit up West Hollywood hot spot Voyeur, during which Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio said they partied with Lindsay Lohan and “Lindsay’s mom,” Dina. They were however the most star struck when they met Leonardo DiCaprio.
“It was weird, ‘cuz we were with Kevin Connelly the whole night, and he took us over to his VIP table, and there was someone with a hat pulled down, and it was Leo,” he said. “All of a sudden, he looks up and goes ‘GTL, baby!’ And I was like ‘Yeah!'”
“GTL” is Jersey Shore-slang for “Gym, tan, laundry.”
There are also talks of Snooki, the break out star of the show, getting her own reality show. According to Snooki, she has received numerous offers to have her own reality or dating show.
“Definitely there is no set thing, but it has been talked about,” Snooki told UsMagazine. “I got offers from VH1 and other reality networks,” said Snooki, 21.
