DC Housewives Slam The Salahis, Plus Michaele To Sue Whoopi Goldberg?

The Real Housewives of DC

A lot to report on the Real Housewives of DC today, so we’ll get right to it.

The official premiere party of the DC ladies was hosted on Thursday, but according to UsWeekly, Michaele Salahi and her husband Tareq Salahi decided to skip out on the party, much to the joy of her castmates it seems.

“I don’t want to see them; I don’t want to talk to them,” said the outspoken Catherine Ommanney. “I don’t want to be associated with them.”

Catherine even added that she would not return for another season of the show if the Salahis signed on. “Absolutely, categorically, no,” she told US. “I’ll have to have therapy the rest of my life to get over being associated with her.”

Housewife Lynda Erkiletian added, “I was very happy to hear that they had their own premiere party and would be attending that and not torturing us any more than they have in the past.”  Other housewife Mary Schmidt Amons has also had it with the Salahis, saying: “I’ve really have had enough. The last two days have been a challenge, just to deal with the trauma of The View, overall.”

Radar Online is also reporting that the Salahis are charging up to $500 a ticket for the premiere party they are hosting. An organizer for the party however adds that proceeds from the event will be going to the Salahis’ bank account charity.

Michaele Salahi and Whoopi Goldberg

In other NJ news, RadarOnline is reporting that Michaele is considering suing Whoopi Goldberg and The View talk show for defamation.

Lawyer for the Salahis, Lisa Bloom, who also happens to be the daughter of famed attorney Gloria Allred, told Radar that the attention-seeking couple are considering their legal options.  “All options are open right now,” said Lisa when asked if the Salahis will take legal action against the show.

Lisa believes Michaele was defamed after being called a ‘gatecrasher’ five times during her segment. Adding that producers of the show turned on the applause light for the audience when the show’s Sherri Shepherd told Michaele that “you should be in jail.”

“I believe she was defamed,” Lisa told Radar. “My client is not a criminal and she has not been charged by anybody for any crime.”

Ratings – And finally, the ratings for the premiere of the DC housewives is out and let’s just say the ratings were so-so.  The show pulled in a mere 1.6 million viewers, in comparison to last year’s premiere of the Real Housewives of New Jersey which pulled in 1.7 million viewers back then.

The DC figure is even more lackluster when you add in the amount of publicity the show received. The finale of Bethenny Getting Married also drew drew 1.9 million total viewers, just above the 1.8 million season average.
