With news of her pregnancy and engagement finally confirmed, Snooki is stepping up and making some serious changes in her life. The notorious 24-year-old party girl has decided not to film Jersey Shore this summer, she will focus on being a mother and providing her child with a healthy upbringing.
“I’m not living in that house being pregnant. I don’t want to be one of those moms who’s pregnant in a club. It’s disgusting,” Snooki informed Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. Snooki has also decided to postpone her wedding to fiancé Jionni LaValle until next year, because she wants to lose the baby weight.
Snooki said her parents had mixed opinions about her news. “My dad was upset. He said, ‘You have your whole life ahead of you.’ We didn’t talk for a week. He came around eventually, and now he can’t wait for the baby. My mom is so happy for me.”
Apparently, Snooki’s pregnancy has also caused concern among her co-stars. Vinny Guadagnino worried he might be the father after his fling with Snooki last year. “He’s counting the months. At first he was, but then he’s like, ‘It’s no way in the world, it’s no way. It’s gotta be Jionni’s. It’s gotta be,'” Pauly D joked. Uh oh… paging Maury!
Pauly is thrilled for Snookers, saying she has always wanted to be a mother. “I’m real excited. I love babies! I love everything about them, when they’re not yours. So I’ll take care of it, spoil it and then when it’s crying, give it back to Snooki,” he exclaims. “I want to be at the delivery room,” he adds. Um… ew.
Luckily, MTV is supportive of Snooki’s decision to take a break from filming Jersey Shore, because, well, that’s no place for babies! “We wish Nicole a healthy and happy pregnancy and congratulate her on her engagement,” a spokesperson for MTV told PEOPLE. “We support her as she starts this new chapter of her life.” Adding, “No decision has been made yet on a sixth season of Jersey Shore.”
However, many speculate the show has run its course, as the cast have gone in different directions and are getting their own spin offs. Ratings declined this season, but are still strong averaging as many as 5 million viewers a week. Additionally, one does wonder how long the “talent” will be interested in acting like drunken buffoons!
While she doesn’t want to continue with the show that made her famous, Snooki’s spin-off with JWoww is still happening. The two were spotted moving into a Jersey City apartment recently to prepare for filming. And Snooki was spotted filming this week and showing off her engagement ring! A photo of the ring is below!
Finally, Snooki is talking baby names. Way back in November the guidette had babies on the brain and talked about what she would name a future child. Thankfully Pickle and Tequila aren’t on the list. Snooki told GQ her top names are Frankie, Isabella, Giana, and Jionni Jr. She also shared that she hopes to have four kids! Wait until you have one first!
