Update on RHOM’s Alexia Echevarria’s Son Frankie After Last Year’s Tragic Car Crash; Second Season Premieres September 13th!

We can all admit that Real Housewives of Miami was touch and go when it first aired.  Granted, it wasn’t originally supposed to be part of the Housewives franchise, but it still fell flat.  Regardless, the one Miami Housewife that brought fun, glamour, and a business-savvy edge to the show was model and local magazine mogul Alexia Echevarria.  Not to mention, she was always drama free which is a huge plus!

The sophomore season of the once floundering series is hoping to rejuvenate when it premieres on Bravo September 13th.  While there have been some housewife change-ups, the feisty Alexia will still be a fixture.  Unfortunately, due to a family tragedy, she won’t be around as much as we would hope.  Her youngest son Frankie Rosello was involved in a horrific car accident last August.  Understandably, she has chosen to devote her time to her son’s recovery, even stepping down as the head of Venue magazine in Miami.

While Alexia will still appear on the upcoming season of RHOM, Starcasm.com reports that her role will be limited due to her family circumstances.  Also, Bravo will not be showing Frankie or his recovery (thank goodness the network famous for exploiting misfortune has the sense to at least keep this somewhat private).  However, a few episodes will showcase Alexia sharing her concern and stress over Frankie’s situation with her fellow housewives.

I am thrilled to report that Frankie is making leaps and bounds with his healing.  After the rainy day car crash, the thirteen-year-old was in ICU with head trauma, multiple broken bones, and a crushed pelvis.  After immediately undergoing pelvic reconstruction, Frankie was sent to Atlanta where he would power through daily grueling therapy sessions.  He had to relearn how to talk and to walk.  A few months ago, Alexia expressed to the Miami Herald, “He’s eating, he’s walking, he’s happy, he’s not on medication. The doctors are amazed.”

The photo above is a recent picture of Frankie visiting the Venue offices with his mom.  Below are tweets from Alexia from after the accident, along with a photo of Frankie after just arriving to the Atlanta rehabilitation center.  Here at Reality Tea, our thoughts and prayers go out to Frankie, Alexia, and all of their friends and family.  Here’s hoping that his recovery continues to progress faster than expected, and he’s happy and healthy.
