Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis Admits To Almost Giving Up On Finding Love This Season

JUAN PABLO

I am fully caught up on my Bachelor premiere, and might I say that was Juan helluva opener! 😉 Oh the awkward crying, and that amazing reaction to the first impression rose. "She's speechless." And help me out here…since when is "free spirit" a career? Juan Pablo Galavis certainly has his work cut out for him this season with this crop of ladies.

Even Juan was worried that he wasn't going to make it to the finish line of the series' eighteenth season. The stress and drama of dating a bevy of girls under fairy tale like circumstances can certainly take its toll on a dude!

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, the 32-year-old Venezuelan heart throb admitted that the entire process was "overwhelming" and he was close to giving up "a couple of times." Juan shared, "It's hard. I don't like hurting people, and it gets tough as you start getting to know people better."

Discussing his reasoning for doing the show, Juan explains, "You can meet somebody at a club. You can meet somebody at a restaurant. But maybe that person is not on the same page. Maybe that person is like, 'I'm starting out, I don't want to get married now.' Or, 'I don't want to have kids.' I took the chance [because] I knew that 25 [women] were going to be there who knew who I was, knew what I want."

Juan chatted about some of the contestants. Opera singer Sharleen half-heartedly accepted the first impression rose, but Juan didn't seem to notice. He asserts, "She's very elegant. She had a different dress than anybody else. She's got mundo — she's worldly. She's an opera singer, she lives in Germany, she's Canadian…I saw her getting out of the limo, [and I thought,] 'Whoa, that dress is not from an American girl.'"

Of single mom Renee, Juan states, "When I saw her, she introduced herself, she says she's a mom. So I thought, 'Okay, a little bit like me,'" adding that federal prosecutor Andi is "very quick-minded. She's smart…she likes to read." Reading is a plus, right?
